I've been having all kinds of fun just datalogging. I need to make an appointment with wichita dyno, wait for cool air, and go for low 14s. Im getting closer, its exciting!!!

Not sure but any datalogging equipment should be able to log timing and KR (knock retard).

I put down 249rwhp on stock intake in 2010. I had it on a dyno not for tuning, just to be pulled for numbers and I had a warble up top on the graph which I'm sure was retarded timing. I have since gone one step colder on the plugs and have no idea if it is still happening. But I will in 2 weeks when I finally get mine on the dyno. I'm hoping for 280rwhp and contrary to what I used to think, I will now use the entire tachometer when shifting LOL

mossbergman, what are you shifting at now?

Do you think you'll get 280 in the heat? I'm shifting manually when I go all out and try for just below the limiter, which is at 6300ish rpm. I call for the shift at 5500-5600, and by the time the damn thing gets around to it, it happens at around the limiter. If I miss though, it makes a very disturbing snick snick noise along with the sound of it bouncing off the limiter. So I don't do it much:D:D:p

Set the shifts all the way to 7K rpms and go take it for a rip and report back. :D

How? It has 3 tunes on it, but I think they are for a 05-10 auto stang. It will let me mess with shift rpm and pressure for the 4-5 shift, which we obviously don't have :p. I'd hate to put a 3v 5r55s tune on it and fry something:shifty:

Oh, my bad. I thought it had tune files for your car on it. Yeah, don't do that. LOL Wait until the dyno. Although, once you are at the dyno, you could also have them raise the shift points then too.

98LSC32V shifts at 7K rpms and so does DLF, so I am following suit. I think that extra 200 rpms is going to make a difference. My car should stay around 5K rpm on the fall back into the next gear on both shifts. That's what I want. 5k rpms is a killer spot on my curve and should pull through lock-up very well at that rpm. Even going from 6300 rpms to ~6800 rpm shifts on my car made a world of difference in both et's and trap speed. I am going to rock it to 7K rpms and see if I can squeeze out a bit more along with the dyno tune.

When I shifted at 6100 out of 1st and 6300 out of 2nd, my trap speed first pass was 97.xx mph I ran it again and was still stuck at a 97.xx mph trap speed. I said screw this, with the Cobra intake I should be doing a lot better. Next pass I said screw this short-shifting tune and I shifted at 6700- 6800 rpms, and wah-lah I saw 99mph.

From there on, I was averaging 100-101 mph trap speeds. Realistically, I would like to see 103-104 mph trap speeds. If I do, the et should be there where I want it.

My shifts complete around 6900 and that's with the Cobra intake and headers. With the stock Gen 2 intake and exhaust manifolds, it probably won't help him to shift higher than 6500.

and all this is being done with an unchanged shortblock? the only real mods your running are the cobra intakes? aside from tghe norm being full exhaust .

My car still has the stock longblock (except for the oil pan and windage tray ), the valve covers have never been off.

The full list of mods is on my web site.

well lined up against a 5 speed, full exhaust at least gt tonight. he was trying to show off for his gf in the car, expecting to murder me. he got me by about a car. if i wouldve had the tune..

hey what is your exhaust? i watched your last lsc wot vid and your car sounds eargasmic

No cats, stock exhaust manifolds, 3 inch x pipe and muffler deletes. I am now running turbo mufflers because that setup was too much for these streets.

Yes, that was from one of the datalogs with the new motor. Proof positive the old converter wasn't up to the task since the rpms didn't match the trap speed.

What do you mean by that exactly?

Do the math. :D

7000 rpm in third with 26.1" tires and 4.30 gears calculates out to be 124 mph. My trap speed on that run was 106.7 mph.

Of course I didn't know the rpms until I looked at the datalogs.

i just got the live link software and played with it a little. while i drove it around the block with my laptop hooked up, the tach and all the gauges died, except the speedo. and i got all kinds of weird errors, like traction control, and fuel pressure or something like that. it was kind of cool to look at all the stuff
