Xenon Hid Kit

You do get what you pay for. So the cheap kits last from 1-2 years and cost 45, good kits last about 3-5 and cost 150+. You can get 3 of the cheaps kits that will last you 3-6 years combined or one good kit for 150 that will last you about the same. Guys on hid plabet recommended these for being affordable and good and they are only 50 bucks.

Lincoln Luebbe has been running these and said they were good too and are fairly cheap

Hey Pete what's the name of the HID kit that you have?

I think he has umnitza's slim hid kit. A few of thel got a great deal a little while ago when it was offered. 125 or 150 for slim digital HID kit.

O trust me I know you get what you pay for. The cost is not a factor I was just wondering about the brand. I'm just trying to find me a good kit so I can go ahead and get it and get the ball rolling when I return from overseas. Good looking out though Alax.

oh ok. Yeah no problem. Like I said, I serached on HID planet what some good brands of hid kits were and I found ddm tuning a lot so I'm basing it off of that. They also have a lifetime warranty.

Yep. Umnitza slim ballast. Actually, they were out of stock of the digital when I ordered my first pair, so they asked to sub the analog ones. Those are in the lows. Then I ordered the second set for the fogs, and those came with the digital ballast.

Here's the thread:

The kit in my fogs is 3 years old, and it cost me $50 new.

To me, there is nothing worth a damn anymore. I miss the days of the Hella kits and such. I still have my original HID kit I purchased back in 2000 for the lofty sum of almost $600. I have it installed on my R6 now. I don't expect anything you buy now to match the quality of good OEM stuff. But I could be wrong.

HOw are the DDM holding up? is 5000k noticeably whiter than 4300k?

Good so far. The 5000K looks about like the 4300K since it does have some color wash out.

So the 5000k isn't white white with no yellow? 4300k is white but i thought 5000k was pure white

Yes, my 5000K are pure white there is a little bit of color wash out though since I have 55w in the LS. They are still white with no yellow.

Got it, cool. Might go with a set of 5000k down the road

Alex, here are some pics of what the 5000k look like. I can't find the one of the LS with lows/fogs on.

The ones on the ls have a little blue in them. The one on the Denali look pure white, they look real good. Thanks

As long as its what you want, do it.

I see all these morons with aftermarket HIDs (not you guys) in their vehicles, and it is very obvious it is aftermarket because of the poor color choice. I laugh at them, and call them ricers.

Tonight I saw a late 90s S10 with HIDs in his stock housings. He must have had about a 5000k color temp, and it looked like ass.

Maybe it is just me, but I remember back when HIDs werent $50 shipped and people were paying huge sums of money to get that luxury look and light output. My first HID kit cost me over $600.

Now, these people are putting in HIDs that look neither oem (luxurious) or put out good light. I laugh at those idiots. Might as well put blue bulbs in and save yourself some money.

I have HID headlights ;) . I was just thinking of going with 5000k later because it looks whiter than 4300k and clean it up a little more than the already clean OEM HID look
