I was working on my LS when I noticed what looks like a brown sand bag filled with air under the intake manifold. I tried to take a picture but I couldn't get one that showed exactly what it is. I've never noticed it before, anyone know what it is???

Haha. Under mine it looks like it is cardboard with a plastic coating. I noticed it when doing the VCG job. I figured it was put there for a reason....whatever reason cardboard needs to be in an engine.

I'm sure they just threw it in there to Fck with your mind! It's useless...just rip it out and toss it! What purpose could it possibly serve?

LOL. IDK, I'd wait for one of the guys who've had their intake off and see what they say.

I had to take my intake off to get a piece of a botched homemade intake out of the engine, it was like insulation of some sort... I have no idea what for. I didn't put it back, been fine without it.. but still have no idea what it was for.
Here's a pic, you can see it laying on the windshield....
