WTF!!!!!!! Broken window!!!!!!!!

I got back into town to find my passengerside window on the ground next to the car. Some jerkoff tried to pop the window out. Instead bent the piss out of the window trim and shattered the window. The tint kept the window in one piece. The person just laid it on the ground next to the car.

WTF!!!!!!!! Did even steal anything.:eek: The person probably thought I had an aftermarket headunit. Fooled them. Factory Alpine.:p Now I have to get e new window and new window trim. I am out $50 for my deductible.

I will post pictures later.
 
Tinted windows is what theives look for. It breaks and stays as 1 sheet, but yeah... he was probably fooled by the stock HU.
 
Don't you just hate that? That's retarded, I'm sort-of glad I live in a small town. I don't have to worry too much about people breaking into my car.
 
I watched a video once of crooks doing exactly that. They pull it out in one piece like that on purpose. They can literally have the window out in seconds and it's a lot quiter than breaking it. But they may have been scared away by something and that's why they didn't take anything.

Nothing to take. Factory headunit, carseat in the back, change in the center console. They turned the dome light on. Nothing moved or out of place.

I guess I'm with you, sort of. I since I have black belt now, I would have to make sure that no-one saw me being the aggressor.

So I would probably have to confront them in a way that made them attack.
Of course once they throw that first punch/push/grab/poke/kick/whatever, it is over.
It they are really lucky they will wake up on the way to the hospital, then jail.
 
I love living in Florida. If some butt muncher is breaking into my car and I go outside, I am positive that I will see him reaching for a weapon and have all the provocation I need to send that bastard onto his/her eternal reward. Florida has a new 'no-retreat' law that states that you have the right to protect you and your property and have no duty to retreat. Also a fenced yard with a couple of poorly fed dogs helps deter the wannabes.

Wrong. If you own a weapon i suggest you read up on the law. You cant protect property with lethal force. You shoot someone breaking into your car you'll be the one trouble.
 
New window is in. I need a new actuator for the window. Two of the clips that hold the window are broke. Have to replace the entire thing. I ordered the two door trim pieces. Be in tomorrow. I have an appointment with the adjuster saturday. Should get a check for the damages. Should have the car ready for a car show sunday. The window actuator will have to wait till next week sometime.

I am trying to decide either to buy a beater car for $500 or buy a NICE EXPENSIVE alarm for the LS. The alarm will not stop them from breaking into the car. Just make a lot of noise. Can't do much about it if they break in while I am out of town like they did already. A beater is just that. Why would anyone break into it.

I say go for the beater... an alarm only keeps out the honest crooks
 
get the beater.. there is no alarm that will stop ppl from scratching.. denting.. or attempting to rob ur car.. it's pointless to try.. no matter what alarm u get it will only make noise.. unless it comes with a private employee who watches ur car then i suggest u get a beater..

the beater helps u put less miles on ur car and helps keep it clean.. u have no idea the diff. u will feel.. the only trick is not spending money ont he beater for repair/maintenance/bad habit...
