Today I went to look at an 01 CV LX sport. It was at Joe Rizza Porsche Ford Kia (chicago). Heres the story:

After E-mailing the internet sales department for over a week for info about the car we decided to make the 2+ hour trip to look a the car, with a trade in and cash in hand ready to buy. We show up, the car is not there, has been moved to another dealership when were were told it would be at this specific dealership. They suggest we wait while someone goes to pick it up. In the mean time we decide to go to lunch. We get back from lunch the car is not there (over an hour later). We decide to proceed with the preliminary paperwork until the car arrives, This is when they offered us $4000 less than trade in vlaue for our vehicle. Another hour passes, still no car. We finally get fed up and tell the salesperson that we will not give him any more information until we have seen and test driven the car. The salesmen calls his driver again and he says someone is looking at the car (even the salesmen has known this for over an our). We were VERY upset to say the least. While talking to the salesmen about what to do, the driver calls back and says the car has been sold. That is when I asked to speak to the general manager, who starts pointing the finger at everyone but himself. They actually blamed us for all of this nonsence despite the fact that their internet salesperson is who I talked to. This is a list of what they did to us.

Lied about having car ready for us when we got there
Lied about location of vehicle
lied about the current status of vehicle (told us it was on the way twice when the whole time they knew someone was looking at it)
Gave us an absoutely rediculiously low price for our trade in
Never once offered us something to drink
Never once apologized
Never once thanked us for making the trip to their dealership
Very rude during whole process

We were absoutely furious when we left. We will never again go to that dealership, or sister dealership. I have never been treated so badly in my life. I will definately think twice about going to any dealerhip in the chicago area because of how we were treated. Again this was Joe Rizza Porsche Kia Ford in Orland Park IL.

The internet sales representative was at Joe Rizza Ford Lincoln Mercury Northside (Chicago). Which I didnt find out untill later. He actually told me it was at the Orland Park dealership.

We are out $100 for the gas money for the trip up and back, one whole saturday wasted, and have lost all trust in all car dealerships.

thats the problem with big city dealerships, they dont value you. theres 9 other idiots jumping to buy anything they can, so they feel they dont actually need your business. thats why i only go to small independent used dealers, they NEED you

Yeah, I agree with that.

Yup. Thats bad business practice right there. Those dealerships won't have any customers left if they continue like that! A bad reputation is hard to lose - people will only tolerate crap for so long. I have only been in America a short time, but i have already boycotted several places.

Man that sucks, I to experienced this kind of crap but it worked out to my advantage.

When I was looking for a conti I found one for sale in plymouth 2 hours away from my house but we we workin 2 blocks from the dealership. They had it listed for 16999, so I sent a email offering them 10500 cash. I got no response, so later that week at lunch I went and checked it out. lowest they were willing to go was 13500 out the door, so I told them maybe and left. That night I get a email from another salesman saying I can have it for 10500 cash if I hurry up because someone else was looking at it. The next day I took the printed email up their sat down in front of my salesman and asked him why should I bye it from you when the lady right across from you offered it to me for 3000 less? That guy flew out of that chair and snatched the that woman up and went in to the office. After 15 minutes they came back out and the lady tells me they made a mistake and that price was for a cadillac right below the conti on the list. I asked if the bait and switch was a normal practice at the largest cadillac dealership in michigan. Thats when the manager stepped in. I told him I wanted to speak with the owner. He told me he was at a golf outing. I told him I didn't care if his ass was on the moon, he owns the business I want to talk to him. I never got to talk with him but I drove out of their with a new battery, turned rotors, front and back bumper repainted, steam cleaned, and a brand new set on pilot sport A/S's for 10500 cash. And to top that off they never did send me questioner about how my experience was.

I may not have got the best deal but I sure as hell felt like I won when I walked out.

ford is shutting dealers down right and left. call ford direct and raise a :q:q:q:qstorm about them. enough calls and they wont be selling or servicing any more cars for ford

k98tm- Worst car dealership experience !!!!

One thing I've learned over the years is the power of a letter. You should have written a letter ( one page ), detailing your experience including all the facts, names, time etc. Then you send it to the C.E.O. of both Porsche America and Ford. Then you (cc) send copies, to the Directors of Customer Service, the Regional or Zone Directors, the Owner of the dealership and finally the local Better Business Bureau. In the letter you explain you want not only to be compensated for your fuel costs but to be given personalized service for the purchase of another car by no less than the General Manager of a different dealership. It works! I still have a copy of the letter I sent Lincoln regarding an engine knocking on my 1994 Lincoln with only 17,000 miles on it, after a run around with the local dealership. Lincoln installed a brand new crate motor, at no cost. Another example, I am a disabled
Army Vet. I frequently end up in the Psych unit of the V.A hospital for P.T.S.D., etc. After a recent visit last month I noticed some things that needed improvement for myself and my fellow Vets. While in there I wrote a letter that if I wasn't given a meeting that day, with the Hospital Director, Administrator, Head of Nursing and the Charge nurse for the Psych unit I would do the following. Upon my release I would write a letter to both Senator Clinton and Shumer, Congressman Randy Kuhl, the Director of the V.A., the Regional Director of the V.A and finally the Office of the Inspector General in the west wing of the White House. Guess what. I got my meeting that day with two of the four. Two of my recommendations were instituted the following day. One week later (I had been released) , I got a conference call with the Director, Administrator and Director of Safety. I was informed the other issues had been addressed. I had friends still there who verified that. I have utilized letters numerous times to prod government officials to get guys' disability claims resolved, ie. , with agent orange exposure, P.T.S.D. and so on. The letter is a Powerful Tool. Good Luck, Gary in Elmira.
