I posted on here awhile ago when i bought my first bike. yamaha seca 2. It was in need of alot of work. i recovered the seat, cleaned and painted the exhaust/header, debadged it, got the mirror put on, gave it new grips and painted the windshield. all in all it turned out very nice since the bike already had new tires/brakes/forkseals/tune up. Anyways i bought it for 600$ and then sold it for 1000$ i put about 75-100$ into it. so i made a little profit.

Here is the new bike. Its a 1995 Yamaha FZR600. I bought it for 950$ and it ran but didnt ride. So i checked it out and its a 9$ fix. It actually rides now but it needs the nut and lock washer for the front sprocket, atleast i'd feel better if it had those parts. However i did take it out today around the neighborhood to see what it had. This thing is a different animal then my seca2 haha, twice the hp! 0-60 takes 3.6-3.8 seconds. im in love with it! it worked out pretty well. the clutch cable that the owner thought was broken was fine, just got disconnected. so i put it back on and adjusted it and it works awesome now!

Front fairing is messed up, It needs a new tire, new battery, new front brakes, new chain (might be able to reuse the one on it). My plans are to do all the mechanical stuff to it and then buy the FZR-r1 kit from airtech for 750$. i want to do the R1 tail conversion anyways which is 200$, and a stock front fairing is 230$ plus 60$ for the screen. might as well spend 750 and get all new plastic for it.

here are some pics and a video of it.

It needs its help. But since i just had surgery for my cancer i need to stay off of them so thats why i sold my old one and got this one to work on. The good news is that its it good running order, just the tires and chain are the only thing holding it back. Exhaust sounds good too, its a SSR2 V&H exhaust.

here is a video of it..

It should be done sometime within the next 2 months! i cant wait

Congratulations. Glad you have found something to enjoy your time. The kit looks awesome and for about two grand - you cant beat that!

I have ridden almost every kind and size bike produced since the mid 90's and the new bikes have come a long way. Currently ride a 2006 GSXR 1000 running 9.70's all day. Dont go with fiberglass fairings though because the paint wont last long on them. Good Luck!!!

umm..check your title....unless the body work has been changed or its from over seas thats not an fzr.....that would be a yzf600r....ask me how I know..:D look at the r1 kit...the frame is not the same.

the one on the right is an 93 fzr...the left is my 97 yzf

nice, been wanting a bike for awhile now. Just all the money goes into projects and funds for a vette

outkast3100

haha yea good call, i actually came back to post that its a YZF600. I just figured it out last night. seller said it was a FZR600, and the title doesnt say otherwise. Actually the title has the wrong vin number, they forgot a 4. so its a 16 digit vin number lol.

Im kind of more happy.

Cant do the FZR-r1 kit now though i dont think :(

and yes its very addicting. this thing is awesome too. bought it for 950$, i gotta put a total of 280$ into it, and it will be back to normal. then i can sell it for probably 2000 and make about 700$.

Currently got it ripped apart to fix the front fairing stay, cant find a used one for cheap so a friend will weld it back together. ordered my chain so that should be here. got a front sprocket lock washer and nut comming, needs rear tire and windscreen and front brakes. i priced it all out and it should be around 280$

heres current pic's of it!

Bikes are just so much easier to work on then cars. and there value goes up instantly!

Man I miss my bike. You may be able to find a nice set of race plastic for that, and cut out the headlight holes.

the plastics are actually in decent shape they are all in the lincolns trunk right now lol. once the windshield goes on i think it will look more "complete".

i would like a belly pan though!

actually went to the guys house who bought mine today. he had some issues with the front brake. i miss that thing a little bit too. first bike. His friend dropped it and somehow the front brake got all messed up. we took the caliper off, pushed the pistons back in, and it works fine now. maybe the weight of the bike landing on the brake lever pushed it in to far and it clamped down on the pads/rotor

I cant wait to get mine going again...its killing me having my first fast bike and i cant ride it!
