without going into details my car got shot..

the trunk lid i could probably do myself, but im worried about that quarter panel as its one complete piece as the roof to front windshield pillars. Unless they use a method of hole filling im not aware of these days... ive filed a claim and have a scheduled dropoff at the end of the month. what can i expect from this or what should i anticipate them telling me?

Probably a police report. Maybe fiberglass, cut and weld a small piece of sheet metal. Gonna be a lot of body work either way to get the paint to match. That's messed up.

lol, wtf. Good luck with the repairs, it might be totaled :(

Location: Memphis

I watch First 48, not too surprised anymore.

They see me rollin', they hatin'...

Glad you are okay. I'm assuming the one on the quarter panel is the entry 'wound' and the one on the decklid is the exit 'wound', right?

nice in and out there... The cheap way would be to heat, hammer and fill the side... trunk lid would be the same, or just swap it out... Without going into details, was it an accident, random, or jealous ex?

First off you need new coils and plugs. Next, make sure your gun is empty prior to cleaning.

Seriously, any competent body shop should be able to repair the fender. The deck lid looks a little more complicated as it is aluminum. IMHO it will probably need replacing.

A lot of governments (IE, State, municipal) have mandatory reporting polices for this situation that will require a police report, and any large scale repair place will follow them if thats the case where you live. Maybe some country bumkin shop might not. I'll try to get some more information on this today at work.

Without getting into details and depending on the situation that this came about it may just be best to follow G-RELL's advice. Depending ofcourse.

I'd much rather hear the details :)

Hopefully no one was hurt.

Hammer and dolly the panels back into place, a bit of weld or epoxy repair and a repaint.

Duct tape also works, they even make it in black.

Who in their right mind shoots at an LS ?!?!

I've seen where they cut the fender at a body line (most times at the roof where the rain "gutter" is, and weld/grind/fill that area, as it's a natural break in the panel, and much less noticeable.

Hoepfully your return fire was better placed.

or someones been watching to many movies thinking the car will explode shooting the filler door :D

Lol thanks for the support and lulz.
i was a secondary victim between the neighbors and a drive by shooting with high powered rifles. The neighbor used, apparently, a 380 which made the in and out. Requesting money or taking the neighbor to claims court will result in a waste of time considering they are pure jobless scum. So if i can get the insurance to take care of it, i'd rather they go after them. Police cant do anything because neither party showed for an interview and no charges against the neighbor because noone saw him shooting the weapon. Its yet another perfect example of law abiding citizens get screwed while the scum inherit the earth.

And it all happened in broad daylight about 2pm.

Who in their right mind would return fire against an ak47 with a handgun with extremely below par handgun skills is beyond me.

Lol yes, black duct will be my goto repair if ins doesnt want to fix it.
thankfully my family and innocent neighbors werent hurt. But its unfortunate neither of the gunslingers got a bullet in the arse.
at first we thought it was gang related because theyre affiliated with that crap, but turns out its over a female.

The hole in the quarter panel is probably more fix-able than the trunk (aluminum) but the trunk is a bolt on piece so you have some options. Or you could take the insurance money and move

I think that's what I'd do, and soon, even if it's inconvenient. Oh, and I wouldn't attempt a retaliation, at least not in the next 6 months. If anything happens to the neighbors, there's a police report on file showing that you have a problem with them, so you'll get hung for anything. This is why I never call the cops when I have a problem with someone, I just take note of any identifying information and deal with it myself at a later date. Then I never, ever discuss what actions I took with anyone, ever. When one person knows something it's a secret, when two people know something the whole world knows.

just putty up those holes, sand, and paint. I do it all the time when the kids put a hole in the drywall.

A lot of info on sanding, Bondo, priming & painting on web. IED required for neighbor! Follow to retail store with 1lb roofing nails. Strategically place under each tire. Wait to see vehicle move, 4 flats, enjoy! Nite time good! I was getting a speeding ticket on one end of town when someone adjusted a neighbor @ the same time. Just had to ensure same speed trap was in place!
Best fine I ever paid!
