Wiring harness connector repair

I believe I've got a corroded wire in my harness leading to the headlights, might be corroded down to the pin in the connector.

I've heard you can get the wires out using a tiny screwdriver, anybody ever do this? how do you secure a new wire back into the connector?

Post up some pics. I had to tap into the driver side high beam to power the passenger side high beam a few years back. The wire was corroded as far back as I could reach on the pass side.

here is the connector I'm working with. I've shaved down a windshield wiper blade to try and pop the pins out with no luck.

anybody know how to get the pins out of the connector?

I've been told there's a tool for that. I'm looking into it now.

jolinc01 that's a good idea jumping over to the other side, I might do that if this gives me to much more of a headache.

there are tools that can be bought/made for certain types of connectors I've found, but for this specific one the trick is to actually pull out the white face piece you see in the pic, this allows easy access to unlock the pins. at this point you can simply use the end of a test light or something pointy.

some connectors have a locking clip you can see that removes the housing but this one didn't, just gotta pull the sucker off.

p.s jolinc - my problem turned out to be the ssp2 relay in the trunk was bad. along with all the corroded green wires I found.
