Widest tire Sticky? Fender rolling?

Hey so did you figure this out. I just installed HRE 18x8 and 18x10 with 255/45/18 front and 285/40/18 rear F1 Supercars. The backs are rubbing on bumps. Dont know the offset, bought em used. So now just gonna sell em, rears stick out too much anyway to be as clean as I want. What is the offset I need so I can have the clean fatness in the rear and still not rub?

40 mm offset 18x10s and 285s can clear with a little cutting.

those things look like 20 mm offset. :O

Thanks Don, man watched your videos and you are smokin everybody, awesome. I'm conflicted cuz I thought I wanted to cobraize mine and now I'm thinking maybe I just keep her luxed out and if I want the performance go ahead and pull the trigger on a GT 500 in the spring. I dont know. The guys at the shop I went to did a bad job balancing and with the rubbing and the sticking way out the fender, I want the cushy ride back, maybe... ugh.

Thanks Chris, already spent a bit of money, is the cutting expensive. Not sure I wanna dig into that. If I did 18x9 with the 40 mm offset would that do the trick? Keepin the stock ride height, it's still on air. Oh and still stock 5x108 bolt pattern. Man there aint crap out there for wheels. Lookin for Bullitt wheels maybe with the gunmetal and polished lip?? Ah, so many choices, what to do...

im running a 295/35/18 on a 10" wheel without a fender roll and no problems

are you hub swapped with mustang rims and what is offset ?the 10" i was looking at was 6.6" backspace, or 28mm offset, while the 9" was 6.18", or 30 mm. the higher the offset the more it moves tothe outside, used this tire calculator
http://www.rimsntires.com/specs.jsp
something is weird because the 98-04 have the backspacing i just mentioned, while the 05-12 has 7.2" bs or 45mmoffset on the 18x10 and the 18x9 is the same as the 04 30mm.i dont understand the giant leap for the back

not really, the trimming is easy, you just have to grind a little on the fender's inner lip.

How about 5x108 to 5x114 adapters? whats the word on these?

nah. just hub swap if you want stang wheels. rear irs mustang hubs fit, but are pricey, and front mustang hubs with abs fit, not so pricey. or you can have the rear hubs redrilled. saturnv, a member here, did that for me.

where did you get the hre rims? i searched and couldnt find your style, alsowhat is your backspacing?

does anybody know the spacing on the stock rims?

This thread is dedicated to the Widest tires you can cram under a Mark VIII without Tubbing or extensively modifying the body.

What we have learned here -

Hub adapters suck.

The stock bolt pattern sucks.

The stock brakes suck.

Hubswap the damn car already.

Then use "search" and your options are limitless.

Saturn is gonna do it for me too, he's just taking a bit to get back to me on the pm's

Dude I've only had it for 2 weeks,ha. But yes I think a hub swap is in order. Thanks for all the input for the newbie here. Stay fast my friends!

IM STILL INTERSETED IN YOUR OFFSET. 99-04 are 24-26mm, 05 + sre 40mm and 45mm for 10. the larger the number the more they tuck under. your offst looks like the look i want. i think a 45mm offset will hit the inside .the search function doesnt have any difinitive answers.
i need someone with a correct answer.

hre 567r's are a custom wheel.
there are no published specs.

and wtf dude. an 18x10 with a 40 mm offset fits in the rear.

an offset like what this dude has will destroy the fenders on a big bump.
and probably cut down a tire.
he is correct in ditching them.

run an offset like he has on purpose, and i'm gonna call you an idiot.

those things stick out more then the 35's on my truck...

You dont even have to search really, my sig says it all....

My car - 19x10 48mm offset 285/35s out back dropped at least 1.5in doesn't hit anything and if I had put the cobra bilstiens on first the fenders would not have even needed rolling. If you run a 10 inch rear wheel with anything lower than a 40mm offset it will hit the rear fender severely.

hmmm. one of the higher offsets i have seen installed on a mark. also one of the few 19x10s i've seen installed as well.

the larger wheel must give you more clearance, as i don't see a comparable 17" wheel clearing the sway bar.

thats whayt i was getting at if your runninh a 48mm on a 10" the ones im looking at are 45mm. they are for 04 + mustangs. under 04 you get 24 offset wjich by the info now will really stick out. so 40+ is what i need preferably a 45. i was worried about hitting any suspension parts. im leaving the suspension rear height stock so even if they reach the fender they wont rub. thank you lobird for the 10" offset. its 18x9 36mm front and 18x10 45mm rear w/ 295 40 18 with the measuring from the backspacing calc they should be right at edge of fender.

Wheel diameter shouldn't affect sway bar clearance, but that being said I can almost fit my finger between the bar and my rear tire, almost lol.

The only specs I have are the ones from the guy I bought them off of from Ebay. (he said) The offset is 5.75 for the front and 6.75 rear. The front ride fine, the back stick out of the fender at least 2 inches. looks ok from the side but check out this pick and you can see the problem, thats why I already took em off and put the stock back on. I wouldnt buy them for a Mark unless you wanted to do some fender work, which i dont. just thought I'd throw them on here in case someone had a need. Hell the tires alone are great, only 900 miles on em. someone could pull those off and put em on a set of wheels that are right for the Mark...

those aren't offset numbers, they are (probably) backspacing numbers. and they don't sound right. 10" - 6.75" = 3.25" of front space. a perfectly acceptable amount for the rear. but clearly, that's not right. 3.5" front space wheels don't stick out that much.

for the front: 8" - 5.75" = 2.25" of front space. about the same as stock (2.1") which also seems unlikely...
