Widest 17" Tire I Can Fit???

My door reads a 245/45/17, but if a 255/35/20 will fit, would a 255/45/17 fit??? Anyone know??

What year is your LS? Mine has the sport package and my door reads 235/50/17. I just recently put on some 245/45/17 and they work great. Why do you want to go wider on your tires?

Looks mainly, I need new tires anyways. I'm thinking 255/45/17 rear, and 245/45/17 fronts, mine is a 2000.

I had 255/24's on the stock 17" wheelsfor a while. That is about as wide as you can go without rubbing anything.

OK?? so 255 is the widest, so then the next question is, do i want 45 or 50 series?? probably the cheapest huh.

50's will give a softer ride, and a slightly taller and muscular look. They look pretty good on my car.

But 45's will be better for hard cornering if you're into that sort of thing.

I have 255/50's on my stock wheels, and the fronts rub on full steering wheel turns. And I think the OEM tires that were on the car when I bought it handled better. Those Firehawks were nice tires.
