These are the button covers for the cruise control. Why at they greenish they clearly have a blue tint to the them. when you take them off and shine a light behind them they are blue. what gives. By the way does anyone have a nice black set they wanna get rid of. ive scratched the crap out of one of them trying to get the bluish plastic off of it. It seams as if these things are pretty thick blue plastic with a nice black coating because if you scratch the black you can get blue to show throw anywhere on them.

I am sure someone has to know the secrets that unlock the color change on these. in a few when i go back out ill get pictures of the bulbs as well maybe they can be unsolder and replaced with colored leds or something.

it would also appear as if the left side of the wheel the light goes in and out.

I've had much experience with Ford vehicles to know that that film can be removed by simply using laquer thinner I use it all the time on the Lincoln ls gauge face backing and info area located under the gauge's.I've also done this for the 00/07 Ford focus

The bulb is that long piece there in the center of the steering switch pcb if I'm not mistaking, you'll have to install 3 plcc2 smd leds in a series then add a resistor to the positive side for the leds to fit in that steering housing.I could be wrong though since I have no way of testing my theory

thanks for the info. I guess ill try some fluids on the pieces next time to see if i can get the blue stuff off. and ye the bulk is the long piece. i figured id have to do something like that to watch the resistance. i was gonna grab the volt meter and make sure of the voltage and stuff going to it and through it if could get some smds in there that would be awesome the other side has one bulb like that too but at the top if you notice there is a much smaller one might be bit of a pain to swap out. i was considering using some lighting gels to get the blue look if i could get everything clean and pure.

That top one is a sinch just pop in an led off your choice cut the pcb trace wire, add a resistor to led positive side(thru the hole mount the resistor flat on the solder side then add solder to trace wire you cut that runs power an boom your Gucci(good) like my kids say

Orange light thru a blue lens makes green light. If you put LEDs in the cluster with no mods, the cluster will turn blue.
