Why does K&N list both intakes for Thunderbird, but not LS?

Yes I tried the search function, but didn't find the answer. I also emailed K&N, but again they did not respond.

When you go to the K&N site & search by vehicle it only shows a standard K&N filter for the LS, but if you search the 03 & 04 T-Birds it shows the 57 series intake & the Typhoon intake. Anyone know why it doesn't show for the LS? Is there a reason they don't want to list it for the LS?

Dont know. Good question though. As long as we know the thunderbird intake fits gen2's.They could atleast write in small print.... "some use it on lincoln ls 2003-2006,direct fit"

Not to sound stupid, but what does that affect? Is it something I need to worry about when getting a smog on my car?

K&N designed and certified the intakes for the T-Bird without even knowing that the Gen II LS was the same. They thought the intake was unique only to the T-Bird, until we told them.

Then after we did tell them, they decided that the cost of certification for the LS was too great and not worth the effort. So they never changed the listing.

i just put the CARB sticker on anyways...they wont know. at least i think so

Do check the band clamps every so often though. They tend to loosen up.
