Which steering wheels fit 96

That mustang wheel looks identical to a 94-97 thunderbird wheel, all were black and partially wrapped in leather, except for a few low optioned 96/97s that had no leather..those I know for sure fit mark viiis. Find a tbird in the junkyard with a good steering wheel and grab it..probably cheaper too.

T-bird won't be not cheaper...dude only wants 60 for this leather GT wheel, it's Charcoal and supposdly LN....I'll see if I can get it for 45...
of course I'm cheap, I drive a freekin MARK VIII!lol

Steering shaft

Steering shaft changed from flats to splines in 97-98 and 93-96

the wiring is different so I will use my buttons and horn activator from the Mark and put in the Mustang wheel; need to pull the wires under the frame- how can I open up the buttons and disconnect the wires?

That trim piece on the back of the center part of the wheel comes off. I think it's held on by screws. You don't need to disconnect the wires from the buttons.

conversion completed; I had to open both pairs of buttons, take the PCB's out of the Mark button housings and put em in the Mustang (black) housings, Mark PCB's = 5 wires each with light, Mustang's are 2 each with no light, button housings and covers are the same; also used the horn/spring bars from the Mark. painting the Mark air bag and hopefully it's a tight fit!
