Which is faster - Seville/Eldorado STS or Mark VIII?

Why do I keep seeing the Caddy guys comparing brand new, 21st Century performance cadillacs to 1993 Mark VIIIs or the slower swansong 98 models?

93 Eldorado vs. 93 Mark VIII.
Straight up.
The Mark wins. On a good day, the Eldorado might win the 0-60 by a tenth of a second, but it's all over once they hit 45. Plus the mark handles better, and it doesn't have that awful fickle Northstar engine.
