Even more the reason to believe they would get the software and everything else they need from the Russians. The Russians are pretty pissed about Obama.

But I still think anything would be neutralized before getting out of the Middle East's air space.

MOSCOW (AP) - Iran's defense minister said Friday he hopes to obtain new weapons from Russia to upgrade the nation's arsenals. Iran has relied on Russian military assistance in the past and hopes to continue doing so, Mostafa Mohammed Najjar said.

"Russia has advanced military technologies, we have used them and plan to keep using them," he said at a news conference.

Najjar wouldn't elaborate on what specific weapons Iran was seeking. He met with his Russian counterpart and toured some Russians weapons plants during his five-day visit that began Monday.

Moscow has developed close ties with Tehran and is building its first nuclear power plant.

Russia also has supplied weapons to Iran, including Tor-M1 air-defense missiles, despite U.S. and Israeli complaints. However, Russian officials have rejected claims that they have provided Iran with more powerful, long-range S-300 air defense missile systems.

Supplying the S-300s to Iran would markedly change the military balance in the Middle East and the issue has been the subject of intense speculation and diplomatic wrangling for months.

The six day part isn't the problem.
But those wars actually put the U.S. and Soviets on the verge of going to war with each other. The U.S. in position to support Israel, the Soviets positioned to support Egypt.

In the modern day, Israel will strike, but there will be international fall out, especially if we're in a world wide financial recession. Iran may lash out around the world with terror, cut off the Straights, oil prices would sky rocket....

There's a reason why Bush didn't give the go-ahead for the strike in his final days in office. That was a decision the serving President needs to make.

I believe you're talking about Afghanistan.
That's part of our foreign policy history where we're often blamed for having armed the Taliban against the invading Soviet armies.
 
No I think it was 82's Lebanese war. I know we gave up some gear in Afghanistan but we gave some stingers I think to Israel, might have been something prior to the stinger. For some reason I wanna say the weapons were to be used against Syria and Egypt do to the Soviets supplying them but I dont recall if they were involved or not. I know we gave them stuff during the 82 war but nothing was as significant as the stingers if I am correct.

Anyway I know we gave them some kind of hand helds that we just developed and it won them a war:D


My point is that if Israel attacks Iran and Iran has Russian technology I think it will play out just the same. Im not a fan of Israeli policies but I have to admit we help them out a lot and those guys can kick some ass for such a small nation.
