Where can I find a Twin Turbo set up for my LS V6 5spd

With enough money ANYTHING can be done, it's just that you may be disappointed in the end result; i.e. how much money was wasted or blowing your engine.

I guess when I wrote new member you took for granted new to cars.

NYC LS8 as I am sure you already know displacement does not equal faster, sometimes less is more. I would rather look into purchasing a package unit due to the cost involved. I don't want to spend my time re-inventing the wheel if some one has already suffered the R&D costs.

I'm very much aware of that fact. I just found the last line in your initial post humorous having a V6 and all.

Good luck in your endeavour.

Don't knock the smaller engines. I have seen quite a few 800+ horsepower V6's and even a few I4's. Not saying the LS 3.0 is one of them but sometimes respect is due to those smaller engines.

The 3.0L Duratec is a very stout motor. I've seen stock block/internal 3.0L motors putting out 500hp(at the motor). There's a drag cougar that has a 3.0L Duratec motor, making over 1000whp with the stock block, and stock crank! The pistons are the weakest link in these motors. Like I told another member looking to go f/i on the 3.0L motor, checkout www.contour.org in their 3.0L forum and F/I forum. There is a TON of information over there. Quite a few people over there making 350-400whp with their 3.0L Duratec motors. They'll be able to help you choose a turbo that fits your application, for the power you want to make. Definitely some helpful people over there, that love to see forced fed Duratecs! Hell, there's even a guy with a Noble that comes over there for advice.

I am just looking for a little bit more... As i said its a daily driver, I have an 88 GT 5.0 to do stupid things to. I looked at different power adders and a turbo, most likely remote mounted would be the cleanest application. The car will probably never see a Dyno. Definitely not any sort of track...I think

I do appreciate the links given, as for the V8 vs V6 war I have owned some big V8s and some small 4 cylinders and some 6cylinders. I rate the car buy driving it not buy measuring displacement.

Weight to power ratio.. My bike has a 1 liter motor only puts out 100hp its weighs 600lbs with me on it. Its goes pretty good

SInce a Turbo setup like you want is a totally custom job (no kits are available) your car will defnitely see a Dyno in order to do the tune... You can't just slap a turbo or Supercharger on a car without tuning to increase fuel delivery, etc. Without that you will likely run lean and kerblammo. Read the Sticky Turbo and Supercharger threads...

The stock gearbox is the limiting factor -- it is not even up to handling the torque of a stock V8 engine, so you and I are both SOL with anything that radical. I do love my setup though, and would not trade it for anything. And that is after buying in summer of '01 and using that car daily ever since. The first one was totalled last year by an inexperienced driver, (my son) but I replaced it with the same thing 3 weeks later and have not regretted it. Like you said, do the crazy stuff to the mustang.

What kind of stock I4's have the internals to withstand 800+ hp? Just curious. :P

I didn't say anything even remotely close to claiming that those numbers were on a stock engine.

Pump Gas? NOT!

I'm sure there are some 1400 hp nitromethane 4 bangers running around.

Once again the answer here is obvious. Did you really believe that I was mentioning a pump gas vehicle? However you do not need to run friggin nitromethane to get some VERY solid numbers from the smaller engines when they are built for it.

You guys should really try an attempt at understanding the context of what I was saying rather than jumping to ridiculous conclusions.

***from the cheapseats*** My point is that people should not underestimate an engine just because it does not run on 8 cylinders.

No I didn't. I was just playing along. LOL.

And yes I would like to find a Twin turbo set up... go big or get the *%$#@ out of my way.

Being serious for a second,

I would steer you toward the Contour SVT guys.

A bunch of them have gone the supercharger route. (I would go whipple myself).

Anyway, check out those guys.

You're running around with the Duratec 30 so that is not a bad place to start actually. Good Luck

That's funny given how you cite exotic engines that make up less than 1/10th of a percent of all engines/cars out there. Of course those engines exist, and no one ever said they didn't. We're talking in a general sense here. I can guarantee you that the possibility of one of us pulling up next to a 1300 HP inline 4 banger, anywhere other than possibly a track somewhere, is next to none.

I get your point, but it could have been made without quoting such exotic setups. So, maybe it is you that should remain within context. ;)
