When I first bought my Mark I pulled the back seat a few months later and there were all sorts of barrets (or however you spell it) and all sorts of Now and Laters and other candy all melted to the sound deadening material under the seat. Damn kids.

finding $hit more like it...:D(hehehe) hey any loose change?...gotta love that!
i know with mine when i ran my cables ,i was lucky to find...nothing..no candy eaither!:p

I love my 95 Mark VIII. But its been sitting in my Driveway for almost a year. Rea airbags went & it has a Tranny leak. Not going to invest anymore money into it. I'm thinking of puliing the Motor & putting in 83 Stang. I've tried selling it and most people want me to give it away, I'd rather let it sit & rot

I just love to hear the whine!!!!
Me too,it's cool when me and my brother take our cars for a spin you can hear whine and the whistle same time.:D

I am turning mine into a pro tourer. The lines of the car are perfect and it's only money.

Why not do a poll as to who has moved on as well as whos vehicles aren't running and the owner refused to get it fixed.

Strange I made my post at 1:49pm and its now 8:14pm and there's no response, as the title stated where's the Mark owners. lol...

i loved the lincoln mark viii from the first moment i saw one... in fact, last year i sold my 1966 289 4speed mustang to buy my black 98 mark viii lsc, cause i wanted something more daily drivable but still fast... and i refuse to drive anything other than rear wheel drive. there are times that i miss the 4 speed classic look, but on the whole i have more fun in the mark. Despite the cost of owning, i would never sell. ive owned a lot of cars and couldnt think of anything id rather have right now. (except for maybe an 03cobra haha) but then again, i like the combination of daily driver/sportyness that the mark has

My 18yr old likes the Mark. He was particular to the ricers like the Supra. After a few runs on the freeway hold our own against the likse of 350Z's and G35's, he's looking at the Mark in a whole different light. Besides now, the best kind of car payment is no payment.

I was out of town for about 2 weeks for Christmas and didn't bring the Mark. When I got back to town one of the first things I did was take the Mark to the store to "pick up a few things." I just wanted a reason to open it up and feel some speed.

When sitting in the Gen 2 I'm sure it is nice, but standing outside just makes you want to run back to the Gen 1.

yea im kinda "iffy" on the front end of the gen 2's but..... its nice, i can see at night, no tranny issues (98 at least), no steel bag mounts to rust and eat the air susp, and of cource (come on gen 2 guys) the CRUISE LIGHT!!!!!!! it just seemed more redefined sure the body is a little bubbly in the front but i love the back mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm like a moth to a flame rich sees the neon (sweet  sweet neon) and gets pulled in

I like both the gen I's and II's... i started out looking for a gen I mainly because they seemed to be more reasonably priced and i liked the bad ass look... but at the same time i liked the lack of tranny issues in the 98 and the fact that more LSC models were seemed to be available with the gen IIs, and i knew i wouldnt be able to afford many mods after i bought the car so i ended up finding a 98 black/black gen II adn loved it. I personally like the front end of the genI and the rear of the gen II, and i like the gen II interior better. But to me, any mark viii is good.

Fair enough. I guess I do get irritated by mainly two things every time I drive my car, the tranny and the headlights. But, it still looks cool...

You need ya some HIDs..... :)

you can slap me if ya want.

:)

Yes I do. It's funny, everytime I ride in another car, the first thing I notice is how nice the headlights are. I feel like a tool sometimes as I'm sitting there saying, "Man this car has some sweet headlights..."

Not it's the only way to complete the set. a 96 would be next...

Oh buy the way the Gen II's would be my winter beaters...

I will keep my 98 till the wheels fall off...actually, I plan on making it a (gulp) trailor queen...probably next year. It will only be driven in sunny warm weather and only for a few hours in the day. Show car only. No real engine mods except of some dress up parts, mainly for stereo competition only.

How's the stereo mods going by the way? You were getting ready for some big competition?

The fact is -- every day - another Mark VIII makes its way to the junkyard. Its just the way it is. The models is 9 years out of production now.

When I created this site, I did so specifically with the thought that we could learn about and maybe appreciate other Lincoln and Cadillac Models. I wanted this because I knew, the days of the Mark VIII are numbered.

At some point - all of us will have a different car. My desire with this site was to not only provide a place for current Mark VIII owners, but to also provide a place where perhaps your next car could be an LS or Seville, (or one of the other models we discuss here) and that you would be more open to that idea after hearing about those cars as well.

For now - I have 2 marks - I will probably never sell. In time - it will be quite a collectible car I believe.

In the meantime, enjoy what you have, but always keep an eye to the future.

I'll never sell my Mark. I will most likely stay Lincoln, and get a LS or a CTS for my wife. I agree, the Mark will most likely be a collector car sometime in the near future. It would be nice to see Chip Foose overhaul a Mark. That would be something.
