My question is why would a stock mark 8 break lose so easy. It's breaking lose so easy to point with tc on it's not hardly drivable.

I have good tires but in the rain you better be careful and it doesn't go anywhere in the snow.

bad tires, open diff, and not a lot of weight over the rear tires.

i drove a 2nd gen half way across town spinning one wheel once.

but my first gen with a posi, relocated battery, and good tires i can launch full throttle without issue.

I just recently bought the car an it's got good looking tires. Not bald at all. Could the air suspension messing up have anything todo with it?

Not sure how long you've had the car but if you're new to these cars, and you've come from a FWD 4-banger, you can't drive them the same, especially in the rain. I guess it depends on how light you really are accelerating. I drive like there's an egg under the throttle when it rains.

Take a video of this horrible tire spin you speak of.. its pretty damn hard to get a stock mark viii to roast the tires without brake torquing it on dry pavement. Now if you're talking about wet pavement all bets are off..you can get any car to spin the tires with minimal effort..especially when crossing an intersection with the reflective walkway stripes..those things are like ice when wet.

what? lol. i went through 2 sets of tires in 9 months launching through intersections. no power braking required.

Ive driven all types of cars and not new to rwd cars at all. And when i say light i mean extremly little gas ill take a video when i can. An example is normal crusing at 40 if i punch the gas itll smoke the left tire way longee than im willingto let it spin and thats threw 70 mph

Chris I edited post..I changed my thoughts while typing and forgot to take that part out. With my stock wheels and tires I can hit it from a dead stop and if I'm lucky it'll chirp off the line..my car is bone stock with just a 93 ecu..runs perfect.

I assume its a 1 to 2 shift?
Or a OD to 2 shift?

Time for a j mod.

Keep doing the 40mph roll and down shift and that trans will be junk in no time.

nah, like i said, my car went through plenty of rear tires.
the tires on it now are doing great though, probably because the trac loc keeps them from spinning all the time.

jdb, you probably need new tires. tread is not really an indicator of traction. if they are old and hard, they will have no traction. also if they are cheap tires, they will have no traction.
see if you can find a production date. should be a 4 digit number in an oval.
first 2 digits are the week, 2nd two are year.

I don't know what your guys opinions are but from my experience a blow or bad shock will cause more wheel spin. It makes sense when you think about what is happening physically.

Chris thanks for the point and I think that's a big part of it... Cheap tires. They are new but seem very hard. I'll try some new tread and see bout the rear shocks.make sure they good. Thanks for all the good advice.
