Heated windshield wiper parks

Look at the windshield, you'll see what appears to be the rear window defrosters on the front.. Under the wipers

Mine doesn't have that button :( but they work without it :)

I dont remember if it was an option or standard, but I thought I read that the wiper heaters turn on when you turn on the rear defroster.

Yea, I'm not sure when it turns on but I know after I warm up the car for 5 mins, that if there was Ice there its gone.

I guess I assume it still works since my car doesn't come out of the garage in the winter except on really clear days, hopefully tomorrow is clear because I'm tired of driving the Suburban.

This is correct. Turning on the rear defrost activates the windshield and the side mirrors.

Nope.

Turning on the rear defrost activates the mirrors, and the rear defrost.

The windshield heated park is activated when the outside temperature goes near and below freezing.

And, it is standard on all LS.

That is... awesome!

So what if there is snow on the windshield, but the outside temperature is above freezing? THEN WHAT!? lol

Thats what it was, thanks.

They could has used a less confusing picture. And mine does come on whenever the defroster is turned on. I had no idea what it was so I always just shut it off. Thats a dern good idea. I thought maybe its a washer fluid heater of something like that. I seem the "parking" lines for the wipers yesterday, hell I thought the wr just marks for installing the blades or something. Like "insert wipers here" or sumthing like that and I was thinking I needed to take mine off and reinstall them cuz they wrnt resting right on the lines

for some reason when I start my car, that light is already on

Can we see pics of your car?

They don't need to be right on the lines, just near them will be fine.. :)

I know that, I just thought they wr just a place marker not actually functional, so I figured my days are pretty much open all day every day so I could find time to put them right on the touchdown zone. Just to have something to do

It should be on if it is near or below freezing.

IIRC, 40° is the automatic-on temperature. On gen 1 cars the button allows a manual override. On my old 2000 the heated wiper park would automatically turn off around 45°, IIRC (it's been a while).

You guys are all wrong. That button is for the NAWZZZ.

:nos:

It's funny that Pete made the NOS reference. I was skimming through Netflix last night and ended up watching about 45 minutes of the first Fast and Furious movie - just to remind myself of hollywood's representation of the tuner/street racer scene.

It was insane how much NOS some of those cars were running.

TRU - who NO'S that his LS will never have NOS
