It sounds like the switch on the key cylinder is either broken or out of place. It could also be that the lever that is on the key cylinder is worn out and will unlock the door but not push the disarm switch.

+1 on the switch. Or you are not turning the key far enough - per owners manual.

I'm having the same problem on my '96. Alarm goes off if I use the key. I have to use the key for now because the batteries in my clicker are dead and the keypad doesn't work anymore.

my control doesnt open my door, so i have to use the key. Its weird b/c when I hit the button on the control i can see the lock trying to move itself up to open it looks like its low on power some how, or something came loose.

Sounds like all you need is another door lock actuator for the drivers side. Press twice and see if the pass side pops up with ease. I would say to try to use the keypad but if the remote isn't doing it, neither will the keypad. I think the actuator is just bad or worn out.

actuator works fine, the key fob works takes forever i think it's the battery though
