I think he is talking about the piece on gen 1s that usually snaps off. It's an addon part of the dash where the column passes into the dash. I don't think it has a specific name, it's just random trim. It's shaped like a wedge with a rubber seal on it.

Yep. That's prolly it. I just super glued mine back on when it broke.

Yes thanks thats exactly what I was talking about. Couldnt find a name for it or find a decent one to replace mine. Just trying to make myself clear when asking a J-Yard dealer or someone if they have it lmao. Such a small piece causing so much fuss for me. clips r broken.....ANNNNNNDDDD it's all cracked and poopy.

The service manual calls it an "upper instrument panel steering column cover".
