What would you do with this cobra motor?

dunno the difference in cobras as i dont know if they follow the curve of mustangs, but isnt that a NPI since it's pre-00?

oh i see you speak SOHC

markviii's and 96-98 cobras have "B heads", and 99 and up cobras, and continentals have the intake manifold/supercharger friendly "C heads"

i read somewhere on here that kb makes a bolt on b head sc kit, but it is non intercooled and not worth the effort.

most common is to put c heads on out block and pick a intake

The B head Kenne-Bell kit IS worth it.

My buddy jeb is running one on his Gen2. Well, soon to be running.

Darrin just has to get the engine built.

Mike

For an extra $1500 or so he could get the C heads and be done with it and have a much better packadge from KB.

More than that roadboss.

he will need heads (I paid 600 for my brand new set) plus the sheer cost of the C-head KB kit. He bought the B head KB 2.2L kit used with VERY low miles. I think he paid just barley over 2000.

He is'nt looking for 500+ Horsepower like you and I. Just a fun street car that puts a smile on your face when you punch it.

if i could add just 100 hp it would be a great improvement, the can is fast already i just want it a wee bit faster.

Could i swap to 03 cobra heads and use a stock Eaton supercharger for the 03.

Yes. Of course exhaust will be part of the project as well as fuel pump, etc.

huh, how hard is a head swap, the engine needs pulled right? where the hell are c heads for sale at anyways, didn't roadboss's setup cost like 17g's or something? i would be fine with a stock eaton, i don't need to go kenne bell.

eBay and other places. The heads are not too bad in price. The engine would not "have" to be pulled, but it would make things easier. You will need timing tools also - very critical.

my boss owns an auto shop and would probably be able to do the job in a day or so. if i could find a reasonable set of heads that i would probably try to buy them. would i need the heads intake manifold also (for the eaton)? i don't know to much about cars but if i could find some heads for a reasonable price i would go for them.

thanks for the massive amount of help, without you guys i would be lost.

your looking at around 350-450 for the lower intake, and another 350-400 for the intercooler core that goes under the s/c. Then you get into the other little goodies.

Mike

Heat exchanger
Intercooler Resivour
Intercooler pump
hoses to plumb they intercooler system
fuel system (injectors, rails,lines, pumps)
lower S/C drive pulley assy,
03-04 Harmonic balacer
Pulley bridge (with pulleys)
03-04 Front timing cover
03-04 cobra alternator and brackets

This is just the beginning. But go here, It will give you an idea.

It's not as easy as you think.

If I were you, and wanting to do this the easy way. Buy a Kenne bell kit for B heads. Slap it on do a few mods to hook everything up, and enjoy the car.

A C head kenne bell would be cool/more power, but also more money.

have a link to someone who has one, the kb kit for b heads? more information on the b head kit. thanks.
