What strange random events have you had with the LS?

Last night Im on the highway doing about 60.

I was in the left lane for about 20 miles or so then I hear this beep. Then another. I look to the dash and nope this aint the normal random beep, this is superior to it! Next it does it about five times in a row and then a few second pause then does it all over again.

Did this for about 4 miles or so and I said Im pulling over shutting it down and starting it up again to see what happens.

Well, after I switch lanes it stopped beeping.

Freaking sick minded cars! I guess it was sick of that lane.


What weird sh*t has your LS done for no apparent reason?

No BS about coils failing or windows falling down. Thats not weird when it comes to the LS;)
 
MAN, NO B.S. I had this bizarre beeping just today. I was getting ready to leave work and as I started to back up, the low fuel display popped up as I backed up.

I started going down the parking lot and the beeping continued. I hit the reset button on the dash, but that didn't stop it. Stop the car, shut it off, and restart and the beeping stopped.

This is the third time this has happened since I started driving it again. I have no idea what causes it.:confused:
 
Nothing the car did, but something I did that was stupid/strange.

After school I got in my car and made a phone call before driving off. After the phone call I went to start the car... Turns out I had already started it when I got in... Boy was that was a scary sound!
 
AdvanceTrak wanted me to check it as I was leaving the gym early....so I went back in to pump a few more sets then came out and it was fine :P
 
I'm glad Im not the only one who hears those random ass beeps. No message on the dash display or anything :confused:
 
This wasn't just the typical random beep though. It was a series or code.

beep--beep--beep--beep--beep.......beep--beep--beep and so on
 
I was slowing down using SST and my car died in the middle of an off ramp. Fastest stopping Ive ever seen the car do!

Put in park and start it up again and it was fine. Damn thing didn't rev over 3k so IDK WTF happened.
 
This just happened to me tonight: I was driving down some residential street going about 25 mph, when all of a sudden AdvanceTrac starts going beserk, flashing the warning light and randomly pulsing the front brakes! wtf! I stopped and turned off the car and after restarting it it seemed fine. :confused:
 
I had a construction worker tell me i needed to sell my car. he came out of his work into traffic to tell me that lincolns are POS's and if your timing belt breaks you need a new engine. I should sell it and never buy a ford again. I said "if i sell it...that means someone is gonna buy it, and your plan wont work of ridding fords from the street".

Are there any Lincolns that use timing belts instead of chains?

Here's one, the phantom wipe, your wipers will come on and cycle then turn off for no reason. The problem is in the multifunction switch near the end of the handle, it gets gummi in there and needs to be cleaned, so far I have found no one who knows how to disassemble the wiper arm.
 
About 3 years ago the LS simply decided not to start. It turned over again and again and it acted like it had no spark. I turned the car off and back on, and it started fine. It never did it again in the last 60K miles. The auto wipers also turn on after about 35 minutes of driving everyday on my way home from work.

lmao, my auto wipers dont work, one of the senors ripped out of my windshield... whole thing needs to be replaced as I guess the rear view mirror / auto wiper sensor come with the glass!?!?!?
 
Now I get a funny beep when I start the car. Its real fast.

I think it might be do to my hub bearing going out or something funny with a door switch.

No, they don't. You do have to get the correct windshield, which has the mounting location for the rain sensor, but the windshield does not come with the sensor.
 
Every once in a while when I start the car, radio on ( I have stock nav ) all the station buttons are blank instead of showing the channel. I change to FM1 then back to FM1 and the channels are back. It does this about once a month.......:confused:
 
Oh once when I started the car, whatever direction I turned the volume knob the volume kept going UP (ow my ears). I had to turn the stereo off and back on!
 
oh yea..my door panel vibrates too when its cold...one punch to the woodgrain near the handle and it stops.

the auto wipers sucked i thought. never turned on till you really couldnt see anything.

I had a problem with the auto wipers after a windshield replacement. Turned out to be to be the windshield sensor (probably just the gell.)
