My HID kit should be here today and I am going to take out my headlights and rechrome the insides...

and all I keep reading is how people keep breaking some sort of clip and can't find them...

What do I need to do to prevent breaking ANYTHING?

Mark VIII parts are EXTREMELY hard to find in my area and I do not want to have this thing down longer than 2 days since it is my daily driver.

thanks!

Jesse

Do you mean in order to remove the housings from the car? There are 3 studs on each housing which are held by metal clips. Those metal clips have holes in them for cir-clip pliers to engage and spread them. Then, they slide off the studs. Take a look - you'll see what i mean.

Yes, I'm sorry. That is what I meant. The housings that is.

I hear of people breaking off studs and whatnot all the time and I want to circumvent this issue.

You can still buy the clips from Ford. I lost a clip when it shot off the mount. It fell down by the air box.
If you end up using a flat blade,be ready for the clip to go flying.
