I just recieved my gears this morning and was all excited untill I say the numbers on the pinion. It has "3557" and then "11X41". There are 11 teeth on the pinion and 41 teeth on the ring gear.
The spline count is 30.
Isnt this a GM gear?

Yeah, sorry. I knew that its a 3.73 but the "3557" threw me. I thought it was a GM gear.

Here are a couple shots. I see a chip on a tooth as well. Its not in the contact area so I dont know if it will be OK or if I should return them.

$200 but I am not sure if I am going to keep them or not. That chip worries me and the fact that the only "3557" came up for a GM vans rear gear.
The chip is not in the contact path so IDK.
They were $40.

Pinion Depth = 3.557" I would not install these gears as you don't know where the crack goes to.

The chip is not in the contact area but I agree. I bought these under the guise that they were perfect and under 500 miles on them. They are 6 years old and have many many miles.
I may just keep them and nail the guy on his feedback. They cost me $40 and he charged another $27 for shipping. IDK what it would cost to send them back but it may or may not be worth it.

The seller just contacted me and said I can send them back and he will refund me or replace them. He said he will contact FedEx and pay for the return shipping too. Nice service.
I told him that if he has a good pinion gear then he can just send that to me to save him some shipping costs and that I can eaither send him back the old pinion (at his cost) or toss it out. I would imagine that he would just throw it away once he saw it anyway if he is true to his word that he only sells perfect gears. I know the ring gear is fine and it is 8.8" and fits my new Trac Lok like a glove. I dont think any GM gear would fit the Track Lok perfectly but could be wrong.
