I've got a line on a '97 Cobra intake from a friend of mine. IMRC's and all. Everything but a throttlebody and fuel rails for $250...

Is that a fair price? And will it fit under the hood of a first gen? I dont recall seeing much about cobra intakes on first gen's...

I think that is a good deal as I have been looking for a while now and they seem to range anywhere from $350.00 to $600.00. Six bills will get you the complete top end not missing a thing.

Be prepared to spend another $100.00 to $150.00 to get the rest of it.

Ok... I might have to hold off then... I would rather have the hood first... lol that way I dont have to go hoodless!

Some guys have put spacers between the K member and frame to get the extra space. And yes, $250 is an excellent price. I'm in the market for one as well, and have seen them range from $300 to well over $500.

That's a nice price! Go hoodless! I did for a little while while it was summer and I was polishing my valve covers. I got so many compliments on the engine.

Excellent deal! And dont space the k-member. It screws up suspension geometry too much. Dont want to sacrifice cornering and tire wear for 4 more hp and a couple lbs lett tq.

I do plan to get it from him, just not right now. I need cash for other items first... getting a 3500 stall for $350...

He said he had no intentions on listing it for sale and that I had dibs so I think I'm good for a while atleast. Lets hope.

So what all needs to be swapped out to work? Obvioulsy fuel rails, intake tube, throttlebody is different.. what is done about the throttle cable?

Also, is a tune of some nature required? I would assume no since it's obd1 but idk

Would ya please post pics and a how to once you start? Also a complete list of things needed. If your like me though,it won't happen. Once I get started I find it hard to stop and take pics.

Yeah... I always take a few "before" pics... then get into it and forget... then just post "after" pics, lol!!!

There are enough people on here who have done VERY important mods to our cars... but it doesnt seem like we can collaborate ALL the info and make nice sticky threads or a tech section (that I have been able to find) for all these useful upgrades and tips like when you visit www.lincolnsonline.com 's tech section. That would be killer...
