What amp for voice

wow...didnt even kno anybody knew about fi in here lol.....its true those speakers dont have the surrounds or excursion typically found in car speakers...but thats because they play a broader range of frequencies then a sub. the actual subs ev makes will pound ur face into the ground.....just not in a car...since the waves that it eminates are too large to just fill up a car's interior....think of those 18 and 10s as just giant 6 1/2 speakers for a car. on top of that a crappy install and not enough space to make the right box for it.....insufficient power....frequencies being cancelled out...phase issues....time alignment issues....wrong crossover points...crappy paint job and ugly color scheme and you end up with lincoln jealous' car...

Couldn't have said it better myself. Some people have problems admitting they are wrong or ignorant. Thanks for breaking it down for him.

hey do you guys mine showingg your system, they all sound like pretty go systems

My pleasure.:)

Originally, I was running 2 Memphis PR10D4V2 10's off a memphis 2x100 amp with the factory Alpine 6 disc changer. I had the system rated at 124.8db SPL on 5/6/06. Not bad for only 200 watts. First picture of trunk.

Currently, I am running 2 PPI amps 2300 and 4400 with an Alpine W203 DVD/CD headunit. The PPI 2300 is 2x75 pushimg 2 pairs of Sony co-axial speakers in the trunk. The PPI 4400 is 2x200 pushing 2 Memphis PR10S4V2 10's. I haven't had it rated yet. It should be quite a bit louder then the "old" set-up. Second and third picture of trunk set-up. Fourth of the Alpine headunit.

Future, I have a PPI 4800 which is 4x100 or 2x400. I plan to up-grade the interior speakers with 2 pairs of Memphis components for the doors. Use the either the PPI 4400 or 4800 to run the components and the other to push the subs. The PPI 2300 will be used the push the new Memphis components in the trunk. Fifth picture of the PPI 4800 amp I recently picked up.

I really don't want to get into a pissing contest here. But you get what you pay for. Go cheap. You end up having problems with blewing stuff or shorting things out. When you spend money on known and proven equipement, you know it will do whats designed for with little to no problems. Just my $.02.

hey rollin. how u liking you IVA-W203. I got the W505 and im loving it.

and yes LJ, i have heard some EVs. I live next to CAMDEN(poorest city in the US) and that is all i hear. People just ride around in there 90's accord with 4 10" EV in there rear deck sticking half way up because they dont fit in the stock speak holes. Looks a mess

I am very happy with the W203. I am still learning all the new little features. Things go right. I should have the headrest monitors in about a month.

I'm going to build a box shortly for my sub (s). Sealed enclosure. But I only have 1 sub right now. Plan on getting another one to fully utilize this new pig of an amp. :D Here's a few pics. Remember, I don't really call this a "system" yet. Need a big 3 upgrade, and a high output alt, new box, better component speakers:

Thought about it. Not sure if I'm gonna do it yet.

Just build you a simple amp rack in between the seats and the speaker box. You can do like I am going to do and make it in a L shape and put in alittle fan to blow cool air past the amps when you have the seats/seat down. I had an old house receiver that crapped out on me so I took the fan from that and am going to use it. Hook the power wire for the fan to your remote wire and ground the other wire and your done. Your can mount your amp/amps on the rack and your distribution boxes. It would only take you one piece of MDF and about 2 yards of carpet.

It's really that easy to hook up a fan? I don't think the d2400 has one built in (the kenwood one I had did have a built in fan).

Yea it was a simple 2 wire fan. When I took it out the house receiver it had a plug on the end. I cut it off and hooked up each wire to a different terminal on my battery until I knew which one was which.

most computer fans are 12v simple two wire, however you may want to do a relay if you do a high flow or multi fan set ups, because most kenwoods usually have a very low output amperage for there amp turn on wires(250-500 milliamps)

i have blown out a couple of the turn on outputs from only powering up two or three amps.

wow. i thought my "system" was just plain. It just looks a mess in the trunk. Imma have to take some pics now.

Here goes my "system", this set-up is not final, and well have mostly be changed out in the near future. All speakers are running off of the amp at the moment, and sounds great. No distorting or clipping.
Head Unit(Alpine IVA-W505, center console are waiting for 1" tweeters that will be ampped.

Here goes the amp that powers everything. I dont plan on keeping this amp for long. As you can see the wires are loose, since im still changing and doing adjustments, This will be cleaned up when done.

Here is the speakers that are in all four doors. They are Audio Menace 6.5". I plan on changing these to components

Here are my two Rockford Fosgate P1 10" in a ported box. This will be changed also.

Hope you all enjoy
