Well its finally happened!!!!

Bearsfan I'm in Griffith and have 4 used 50,000 mile LS8 Motorcraft warranty coils you can have of my '03. 1 or more may be bad. I was getting the damn ETC failsafe mode, so I swapped all on the passenger side. Anyhow, PM me for contact info.

i still have my old ones, actually... i have a fairly new one from globalautomotive that i took out so i could replace all 8 at the same time thanks for the offer though

also which one is cylinder 4?

No honor in him

Lol.. honor the warranty and he wouldn't get based..

Does he have a track record of standing behind his deals? I'd guess the dude is a sh*tbag and has zero intention of honoring any portion of the deal. Vendors like him hide behind the anonymity of a web transaction and have no interest in what is or isn't in the warranty bc he won't stand behind any part of it.

I hope you find him.
Post pics.

There is a couple of us on here that have had good luck..

I think that ganging up on him and getting him off of eBay would be excellent.. I won't suggest him again..

well that worked for all of about 15 minutes... lol its still misfiring and i was too lazy to go back outside and scan it tonight so i'll do that tomorrow

also when we pulled the cover off to get to the cops there was some condensation in there, is this a problem? could it be causing my misfiring problems by eventually getting down to the spark plugs and stuff?

yes i did, on the very back of the cover the seal was messed up a little but, i wonder if thats that problem

Probably so.. I would see if you could get a new one.. Condensation (well anything) tends to screw up these coils.. That's why they put the cover on there..

I've had my LS for 50K miles... Now, I date code the COPS, ie. 12/10.. Then I know the new from the old. When an old COP fails and is it in a hard to reach location, I swap the cop from an easy up front location to the rear and try the faulty cop up front. I have also went to copper spark plugs and they seam to last longer than platinums. My #8 goes out every few months and has water in the spark plug hole. It used to be full of oil, but I swapped valve cover gaskets and that stopped. I don't think the quality of the cop is anything compared to the SH#T design of the motor and quality of the VCGs.. In 5 years of ownership all of my COPS have been changed twice, and the original factory ones also failed. I carry spare COPS, plugs and a wrench in the trunk.. I used to carry my scan tool when it was real bad.

ok so i pulled out the cop again today and replaced it with another old one and i also replaced the cover that goes over them, and when i pulled it out it looked like this and it smells like it was on fire:

That's just the misfires because the coil finds the path of least resistance and fires to everything except through the spark plug. Most of the upper parts of my spark plugs are showing severe evidence of sparking, corroded. The spring interface between the spark plug and COP isnt' engaging enough, it needs hard COP shafts with a mechanical interface-click onto the spark plug instead of a spring.
