has anyone ever seen this?? tryin to get my new neon on, but it seems like it is warped, i dont understand. it looks like brand new, my old one fits perfect, but this one needs a little fight and it fits good except the center bottom section.. anyone ever see this before??\

anyone else?? if this is a a common thing than ill just leave it be, but if not then theres got to be something wrong and ill take it apart again and try to figure it out... anyone else see this before??

its obviously warped, that we can see, must have been due to storing it poorly for so long. if you have all the nuts threaded on, and they are all tight, and you have that huge of a gap, nothing you can do now! so much for that brand new condition neon huh?

well it is brand new, its strange how it can be warped. this is why i am asking if it is possible, there is one other thing i can think of possibly, i put a little epoxy on each stud for extra strength and i am wondering if maybe they needed a little play to got on right. can anyone shed any light on this?? maybe i will remove it and remove the epoxy..

if you have a gap that big from epoxy than you couldnt have put a little around them, you must have used a whole tube per stud!

yea i just looked at it, it is just warped. got it a little better, but whatever. it looks fine, if someone were to open my trunk and point that out i would close the trunk on there head!!! its one of those things that just bothers you because you know its there. you can not notice it at all when closed. its just frustrating, why the hell would ford let sylvania stop making them.. and why the hell wont some after market company come along and make replacements.. hopefully in years to come some company will.. atleast it looks good now, and i got an extra ballast and a junk neon to open up and play with :D ! but ill still have to have my eye peeled for another neon..

I bet if you keep it on there and just tighten it every day when its hot it will come out how you want it.

possibly, looks good though.. better than the black one.. i think your right staff, i left it in the sun a little today and it does seem to be forming again, probably just from being off the car for so long.. jamie i liked yours but i am only going to buy original black ones. i know you said you can paint anything, but belive me, i have delt with that in the past, and you even said yourself, it never lasts forever.. i would just rather stick with original black ones.. if you get one belive me, let me know i probably will purchase it.. i definetly am not selling my car so i need backups...

the one i sold was factory black, i said i CAN paint anything, but i have never painted a neon light and sold it as factory. i never painted a neon light period, i was throwing that out to you thats all. but how do you think ford did them? they painted them too, the trim wasnt molded in the body color, i can do the same thing ford did, piant with base color, then spray clearcoat over it. whats the difference if you buy it from ford in black, or buy one from joe shmoe in black lol!
