Couldn't find a helpful thread so I'll open one.

Where are the VINs located in a 1995 Mark VIII LSC? I know one location is the sticker on the drivers side door jamb and another one is under the windshield. But shouldn't there be one stamped into the body as well? I know my '94 had a metal plate in the engine bay bolted to the drivers side fender but its not there on my '95, and it wasnt exactly stamped into the body either.

I don't know of any locations that are physically stamped into the steel but there should be stickers with the VIN on the topside of both front fenders, bottom of the hood, bottom of front bumper, bottom side of trunk lid and rear bumper behind the license plate. This is a good way of telling whether the car has ever been wrecked or repainted anywhere.

Hm yeah. When I wanna register my car here in Germany they'd liked to see a stamped VIN. You can easily removed a sticker, thats not the case if its actually stamped into the body. They would do that for me if theres none.

The one under the windshield is non-removable, as they use special rivets to secure the tag.

I was surprised my '94 had a metal plate with the VIN on in the engine bay and my '95 didn't. I guess thats normal, too? Or was that plate added after the car left the factory?

Added after the fact.

FWIW....

The Vin tag under the windshield is VERY removable. I have a hand full of them from cars I've parted.

These are factory ford stickers with "ford" embossed into it and its the type of sticker that is perforrated so you can't remove without destroying it..kind of like your license plate stickers.
