Valve cover gasket swaps suck big time. Took me all day to change the things out. Had to swap a brake booster as well so it made it a bit easier to do on the driver side, but is there a trick to the passenger side or just use brute force making sure not to break anything?

pass side takes me 20 minutes, driverside takes 6 months lol
It was the reverse for me...had to replace the brake booster as well...btw, what's the little thing on the brake booster that has a 2 wire electrical conn.? I looked in the sm and couldn't find anything out. One more thing, how much for a gen 2 message center, I need it for some reverse engineering.
thanks

Any tricks on how to remove the passenger side valve cover on a 98 Lincoln Mark VIII? The driverside was a real pain. Had to remove the brake booster and felt like forever just to finish that one side. Any information will greatly be appreciated. Thanks.

Make sure you remove the valve cover bolts. Good trick to know when removing valve covers. Also, read up on reading comprehension. It comes in handy.

For example,

brute force, take off the shock tower cover off as well

Which part of that post eluded you? :D

I already know to take off the valve cover bolts, you DUMB ASS! The question was to have an easier way without resorting to brute force and the risk of cracking the cover. What part of THIS is eluding YOU?

The part that eludes me is your failing at reading comprehension and at your failing to use the calendar, tough guy. Search is your best friend around here. Now, you can try and be the big bad n00b, but make no mistake you're not the first nor the last. I will make you look the fool... every... single... time.

Oh, and removing the brake booster is not necessary in order to remove the driver's side valve cover.

SO how do you get the pass side off. I cannt seem to find any brute force, is that a specialty tool or what!

First of all, if there's anybody trying to be a tough guy, it's gotta be you, Mr. "I carry a firearm because a cop is too heavy." How corny is that? It seems like you have nothing better to do than to try, and I do mean try, to be a wise ass instead of giving helpful hints to anyone needing it. So, continue on being the internet tough guy that you are.

Obviously, you have never tried to carry a cop around. They have to be fed, burped, put down occasionally... Too much work. It's sad that the best you can latch on is a quote in my signature. But it's OK. I now see you're part of the "special needs" people here. Nothing wrong with that.
As far as it being corny? Well... DUH! It's a signature quote, ding-ding! It's supposed to be corny! But I think you're trying to be the tougher guy because you think you can stop bullets without any way of fighting back?... Oh... wait... You're from queens. They don't let you poor people carry firearms there, do they? Tell me, who do you call when someone robs you at gun point? The brady bunch?

I generally don't have much to do, this is true. Maybe I should start answering your idiotic questions that have been covered many times before here... nah. I'd rather annoy you. More fun that way. I suppose you've read every single one of my posts, since you seem to be an authority on how I never help out any members around here. Wow. You are a quick reader!... but obviously, as quick as you may be able to read, your reading comprehension is still tEh suck.

As far as continuing to be a wise ass "internet tough guy" (That's actually kind of funny coming from some n00b who's dimmer than a burned out light bulb), I will continue to be so and do so. I will have lots of fun annoying you, me thinks.

probably should call people "dumbass" when they have the ability to "call in" your "coordinates" for a "show of force". (lol) Also those people that can put a bullet between your eyes from well over 1000 yards aren't "dumbasses".

Dumbasses ARE those that cant find or USE the search function.....

n00b! that would require the proper understanding of the search function
*buzzer sounds*

CHOKE YOURSELF!
HAHA

The pass side is more easily done with a simple pry bar (if your strong enough) or jack the pass side of the engine up with a 10 inch 2x4 under the head. Helps alot.

the easiest way is to loosen the drivers side motor mount a few turns remove the pass. side motor mount bolt and jack the engine up and simply pulling the valve cover off.

now id invest in a book that tells me how to do things rather than come here ask a question and get berated and made fun of for various things.

Books are your best friend...i guess so is search..but i prefer books.

The guy got barraged because he doesn't know what a ( :D ) smiley means around here. It typically means (I'm screwing with you).

For example, I'm buying you a new keyboard for Christmas. I see that your SHIFT key must be broken. :D
