V6 Aka 3.0l

There are all sorts of items available for other 3.0 equipped vehicles. It is just a matter of testing and creativity to make them work. In theory if you could make the 3.0 parts that are available work within the LS platform, you could end up with more power than a well upgraded and tuned 3.9 V8.

Document and share anything you do test or try, so we can maybe get some things going on with the 6 too.

It might be made to work for the 1st Gen, but not the 2nd. I have looked at headers from the 2.5 Cougar and Contour model and the mounting flange is about right, but the length and shape of the pipes is way off. I have been tring to get pictures of the headers for the Ranger with the 3.0, but no luck. No one even stocks them in their inventory to get a look at. there is someone on the here who is working on BDT (belt driven turbo) for the 2nd gen 3.0 LS. Follow this link,

Probably because he has been beaten down by a LS V6 in the twisties!!!

from wikipedia...

With its available V8 power, rear wheel drive, and near 50/50 weight distribution, the LS was an attractive alternative to European and Japanese luxury sports sedans.

so....I doubt it.. :)

my 2000 v6 with the 5speed manual, has a custom cold air intake that actually works unlike the available junk, custom exhaust with no resonators and straight thru style canister mufflers, and a tune and it puts down around 230 to the wheels. then add my 80 shot of nitrous. and my custom flywheel/clutch setup. you can make the car quick. i dont know much about the autos and what can be done with the tunes with them. probably harder shifts and stuff. dont set your rev limit any higher than stock though or youll be like me and spin bearings from over revving. never had an issue in 6 years until i raised the rev limit. my v6 on the spray was as fast/faster than any other car on here until quik did his supercharger. but i could launch hard on drag radials and get good 60fts. sure no race car but surprises plenty of dbags in cars that think their gonna walk you. check my boardom thread for some old vids of mine.
you can get a little more but not likely youll drive as aggressively(destructively) as someone like myself so its minimal without n2o or forced induction

In Lincolns early press releases, listed the 50/50 balance of the V6 for the LS in general. The V8 has more of 55/45 balance.

Gen2 V6 does almost as well as the Gen1 V8 out of the gate. 232HP stock. Doesn't take too much creativity to get it near 250 with a little work. Unless you are racing, the V6 is an awesome car. Steers these mountain roads like it's mounted to rails.

i'm just saying, my 1st gen V6 had a bad case of the not fast, my 2nd gen V8 is a lot better, and if I'm gonna spend money to make it faster, then i am sure as hell going to start with the faster car and then put money into it,

BTW, bring your V6 and your twisties :)

We had to keep slowing down to let them catch up.

HA! V8's with scared drivers maybe! Ill show you which is better in the twisties :D

Maybe we should do a Appalachian Twisty Road Rally from PA to KT. Several hundred miles on some narrow two-lane highways would be some good times. Easy to burn up some brakes and auto trannys having such fun.

Be some beautiful scenes this fall.

I don't think anyone was scared, we were pretty much flying on the limits. Was very cool, too bad halfway the road was closed and we had to turn back.
