I just purchased a '98 Continental with 67K miles for use as a daily driver. So far,I have been quite pleased with the car but earlier this evening I noticed that the turn signals stop working intermittantly. Also, the hazzards do not work at all.

Anyone know what the potential cause of this problem could be?

Thanks

If it's not the fuse its the switch (honestly, in my experience its the switch).

The hazards and the turn signal are all in one switch. My hazards stopped working and once in awhile the turn signal wouldn't work and the cars warning system would come on advising a lamp was out.

So, solution was to just take apart the column surround and remove the switch. I took it apart, cleaned and rebent the contacts and put it back together. Well worth the effort and saved a lot of money on the switch.

This method also worked wonders on my passenger side seat switch.

Thanks for the responses, I'll check the fuse.

Does anyone know how difficult it is to remove the switch? I checked and the part is only $77.

Not hard, just have patience getting the steering column surround out. I also think if I recall Torque (spelling?) headed screw drivers.
