Yeah I knew that would get your attention... anyways I found this on ebay.

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Linc...ewItemQQptZUS_Cars_Trucks?hash=item3efe105ea4 Even more impressive is the price and the fact that is has a salvage title... But as the guy says in the ad: "It has the bottom end torque like a Boss 429, and revs like a Shelby Cobra 289 Hi-Po with the efficency of the 3.0 all aluminum Duratech V6!!"

I believe It's legit, actually. I've seen it before.

That color is SHARP  Those wheels would have to go, though. Makes it look like almost every Galant around here.

24K sounds like alot for 8 year old car. Then how much power can the stock trans take? Also did I see a cheap non vented battery in the trunk? The main thing is the Salvage title. No matter how it got it, it still has it.

It said no accidents and no issues in the second sentence of the description, but then the ebay listing says salvage title. Thats great to see another turbo out there thats in running conditions. The price does seem high

wow thats expensive, he'll never get 20k for this thing. Even if it wasn't a salvage, people need to realize that when you put performance parts in a car like this your pissing your money away. Kudos to him if he did get a reliable 400 horse out of a 6cyl LS but asking over 20k is insane

cool turbo kit ugly car. i wonder if this guy knows that u could buy a stock manual ls super cheap and do a custom turbo setup on it and have maybe 10k in the car tops with the price of the car. and that 10k includes wheels mach one chin lowering tint mcclaren grill and angel eyes. this guy is on a different planet thinking that thing is worth that much money.

but the turbo part is pretty cool, read about the build a long time ago but no actual numbers or anything were ever posted
id like to see the dyno sheets

No mention on who did the tune, it is not a plug and play install with stock tune.

Yea, I remember seeing that a while ago. I don't like the rims. The price is about twice what it should be.

I agree that the color of the paint is nice, but I would like to point out that there are a couple things wrong with this car. There should not be a Duralast Gold battery in the truck. Autozone does not make one for the LS. Secondly the spare tire should be a full sized spare, and it looked like the car has the factory subwoofer in the back, which it should not have because it is an automatic delete when its a manual. Idk about everyone else on here, but I hate the tan interior on the LS. It ruins the whole car.
I doubt the car gets over 25MPG

Does anyone know how much that turbo would cost?

psh.. the windows arn't even tinted :shifty: I am not paying that much for a car that doesnt have tinted windows!

lol that turbo setup must hate speedbumps. And 25k for a 2002? so I assume he put 20k in mods as that would be the only reason why I would see one at that price vs it's KBB price.....

25k can get me a 2008 or 2009 Lincoln......mhm. Not to mention you can't get a warrenty on that thing and with the VCG + Turbo....that's like having two wild tigers in your engine bay...either or both will f*ck you up plenty over time :P

My April 2000 build 2000 LS manual has the factory subwoofer, and it came with a black painted full size spare. That car was fully equipped with all available options. My August 99 build LS manual had no options but did have the stock sport wheel on its full sized spare. BTW I'm a big fan of bass but the factory sub doesn't do a damn thing for me and is unplugged. :D

very cool.

if the getrag 221 could not handle the torque of the V8, I wonder hows it does here....
funny he doesn't post actual dyno or even claims of hp....

weird to see the exhaust run form the driver's side, down and infront, then around and back out. When he pulled the windshield washer reservior you would think he would have lined it with a head sheild...

for 22K you could buy a 02 V6, all the stuff to turbo it, and a 02 V8 to drive around during the down time.

seriously...
i have a duralast gold battery in my trunk. they dont "make" batteries for specific cars. you just measure the space you have to mount it and buy one that fits and has enough power for what you need.

mine is a 2000 ls manual. came with factory subwoofer in it, and a full size spare. those subwoofers will fit all the gen1s, maybe gen2s. whats the tranny have to do with it?

and to ask how much that turbo cost is a bit silly. all you have to do is google turbo click shopping and youll see how much turbos cost. the rest is on how much labor shops want to charge to fabricate the setup for you. no 2 setups will cost the same. turbos are universal just like batteries, they are not "made" for specific cars generally. there are a million different turbos out there that all cost different. based on what he wants for that car im sure he paid ALOT more than i wouldve for that turbo setup

it always funny when someone says stuff like this, no disrespect just blows my mind how much most people rely on other people to tell them what works and how it works and this and that. if the computer says there is nothing available that doesnt mean there isnt a million things that will fit just fine. people need to take some initiative and try to understand whats goin on. if you want to make a car faster like that mustang guy that bought all these nifty parts for it and there is nothing "made" for yours, just take the initiative to apply the same concepts to your car. he bought some exhaust and an intake system for his, ok look at your car and see what u need to make something like it, maybe you can just buy the same one he had and cut it a little, not wait ten years until some place sells an intake kit "made" for your car when really its just like the mustangs but an inch shorter. and all you need for exhaust are some basic pipes and mufflers they have at midas cheap, but u wait till some company makes an $800 kit for your car. thats just a stupid example i made up. why is it such a hard concept to grasp, but i guess knowing seperates real enthusiasts from people who want to look cool by bolting things on their car that are like the things someone else bolted on theirs.
im annoyed by this

If you take the three or four hours needed to read the TLDNR infomercial, you'll find the following explanation:
Car was NOT wrecked. It was a recovered theft, and being that it took more than 30 days to recover, it was issued a salvage title by my friend's insurance company. My friend (who was the second, very meticulous owner, and owned car since 4500 miles) had already bought another car by the time insurance paid the car off after recovered. The car disappeared when getting the sunroof repaired and the keys got in the wrong hands. Less than 40 miles were put on the car before it was recovered indoors in a warehouse after 48 days, and it was kept indoors at the auction house too, where I was given the opportunity to purchase thanks to my friend's suggestion. The car now has a clear CA title with salvage history as it was inspected by the state of CA and passed with flying colors. Can be registered in any state or country with no problems. Autocheck and Carfax have no way to determine why a car was salvaged, that's why it shows "accident reported", when there wasn't one. It also shows 4 owners as they consider the insurance auction 1 of the owners. My friend bought this car in AZ in 2003 with 4500 miles and leased it through his business as a second car and drove it between AZ and CA between his homes as a nice weather 2nd car.. He bought it from a Ford auction for previous display vehicles, so the first 4500 miles put on this car were by Ford executives taking to various autoshows.
Yeah, I didn't read it, either. Someone at LLSOC pointed it out. ;)

I read a good chunk of it but it but not all. Well that explains it
