What you see going on right now with deportations is largely theatrics, it looks tough on camera and looks like Trump is doing something so his frothing at the mouth supporters have something to cheer on again.
FunFact: If Trump were actually serious about affecting illegal immigration in any meaningful way, he'd rollback the jackboot ICE agents deporting people in relatively small numbers and set up a task force of desk jockeys and lawyers to legally go after the mega farms, construction, janitorial and hospitality industries that hire illegal laborers by the hundreds and thousands, so they in turn can profits in the millions and billions off the cheap labor. Reduce the available jobs to illegal immigrants, and they won't come.
But Trump won't because the heads of those corporations are his friends and associates and part of the wealthiest class and they need millions and millions of illegal laborers to keep their overhead down and their profits up. So he'll deport less again, while claiming he did more and Trumpers will believe because he said it.
