tranny swap?

my friend has a r100 transmisionn form a ford truck that had teh fx4 edition, would that be able to swap onto a 94 mark VII with switching the tail shaft?

My question would be why?? I believe you are talking about the 4R100 auto truck tranny. First yes it would bolt up and probably work, but the case is a whole lot deeper and would cause clearance issues, and its got funky gear ratio's. plus the length is wrong and so are the output splines. Just get the stock tranny built, I have seen them handle close to 1000HP. Just my two cents.

get a 02 mustang gt 4r70w and keep your electronics and put it in there, and splice the wiring harness.

well next question is which is better, the 02 mustang gt or the tranny from a 97-98 mark?
