I was thinking of installing a tranny cooler on my 93 mark. How do you install it? Where do you mount it? Do you use the existing lines that plug into the radiator? If so, how do you plug the holes that the lines previously went in? Any pics would be great!

The first question I would like to aske before giving advice is, what kind of climate does your area have, and do you drive you Mark in the cold/winter if applicable?

How cold it gets is more important. If you are seeing tempuratures below freezing I would put an external cooler in after the fluid runs through the radiator, because it will help the fluid get to operating temp faster. If you don't see those cold temps then you can just bypass the radiator cooler entirely and run a seperate cooler. You can just use the existing lines and use rubber hose to run from the metal lines to the new cooler. I found some caps at the local hardware store that screw in where the stock lines go.

If you type 'cooler' in the search, and narrow it down to Mark VIII, you will find a ton of info about coolers etc. Also, there is a tech article on another Lincoln site for installing one. I been thinking about this too. I was thinking about going with a 24000 cooler from Summit and just blocking part of it off with card or some other insulation, for the colder days/season. (although a thermostat would be even better)

B&M Tranny coolers have an internal thermostat.

If I were living in SC I would just skip the radiator entirely. 98+ Crown Vics had an external cooler only, same tranny as the Mark. I've seen temps as low as -15 air temp with my Vic and haven't had any issues.

Anyone have any pics of cooler installed? Is tube or fin coolers better? Where is the best place to mount it?
