Or something completly different?

When under very very light pedal pressure the car seems to.... IDK, feel weird. If you are holding at 30-35 MPH the car feels as if the AC compressor switches on and off.... thats not whats happening but thats what the drag feels like. Not like a miss or brake drag just like a few horses go away for a split second. Its done it since I had the car and really its so minor almost nobody would notice it but I do and its not right so I want to correct it.

Any hints? Gonna swap my pump in a couple weeks when I can get the tank down and put in the 255lph out of the 97 Mark.

I was thinking TPS because if the contacts are dirty and the voltage is fluxuating at that throttle level then wouldnt it cause that issue?
 
the tps can and does wear out in the light throttle ranges..and yeah could do what you are talking about

a flaky iac valve could too

I think most Marks have this issue Laser. I know mine does and it's annoying but it is what it is. I wished I had different gears to help out at those low speeds and I wished I had my 98 J-Modded trans in the 95 to make it even better. Changing gears to me isn't worth the money for normal driving conditions.

TC locking up under light load and slow speeds is what I think you're problem is and many others. Just be glad you have the 98 lol because with time, "shudder" usually follows. btw, if you have never had shudder, it sucks. Right now, I have exactly what you have and it's the TC locking up. I keep my O/D off unless I'm going to be doing 50 or higher for at least a mile or so.

When you feel the hesitation, drop it down to 2nd and get it up to speed and then click it back in 3rd. Leave the O/D off in slow conditions because the TC locks up in O/D at around 39 mph which is too slow for O/D

in the stock calibration this is true..

not in Lasers tune..it's up somewhere around 50ish MPH when the TC locks in 4th.

but they are speed related and unless he's driving in second gear, his TC is not locking up at 35-39MPH.. hell even in second it's waiting til 40 before it locks
