Tires!

I ALMOST bought those for my truck, but didnt like wat i saw for ratings, so i went with Riken Raptors. They also make car tires, you should check into them. I believe summit sells them.

They seem like good tires... for a truck tire. Go somewhere other than Discount, or find some 245 performance tires that will hook better.

Are you going to drive in the slop ?
Not a bad tire if you plan on some winter driving.
If your going to park it keep looking.

I like Potenza RE950s, but they cost a lot and really are not for snow. In a search for 20s I came across Yokaham S.drive. Awesome tire and not expensive at all. I'm not sure how they will handle in snow and will never find out :)

I have the Potenzas great tire.

But I have this for the snow. :D :D

My friend has them on his vic and likes them thats why I asked about them.

I'm really just looking at any 255 series tires.

try the cooper Zeon ZPT 245-50-16. it's a great tire.

good traction and decent longetivity, I was getting about 50K out of my rears.

on some wheels, the 255's will rub the rear sway bar links..on some cars.
Some have gotten them on without rubbing the sway bar, some have not.

I loved the 245-50's..

According to discount's website the 98 Mark came factory with a 225-60-16, can anyone give verification to that being correct?

If that is true the 245-50-16 would be have a .5 shorter sidewall and be an inch shorter overall.

Tommy, do you think those coopers will hook after I do the gear swap?

the best 60 foot I ever got (2.09) was on those tires..

they aren't slicks so I'm not saying it wont be "possible" for them to spin after the gear change.

They worked well for me.

that is roughly correct.. they are almost a complete inch shorter tire..
they have a much shorter sidewall, and give better handling "less tire fold" than the stock 225-60's.

How much would that 1 inch difference effect the overall cruise rpm?

I see, barely noticeable really...

I think it would throw the speedo off 1.5 mph according to one calculator I found.

I like the price of those tires too, the last tires I put on my vic were a bit more than that, like $132 a tire. I try and go with Discount because I have bought tires for every single one of my cars there, and my parents cars that they put on my account. After having 10 or so sets purchased from them they've been giving me good deals, I got $75 off the tires for my truck this summer.

Is this thing going to get driven in the snow?

If not, use Firestone Firehawk Wide Ovals.

If so, use Goodyear Eagle RS-A.

It won't see snow ever...

Goodyear Eagle RS-A's are the worst tires I have ever driven on, that what my Vic had when I first got it.

Had no idea where "North Branch" is, but nice to know it doesn't snow there :)

I found RSAs to be a little noisy, but they were also stickier than any other tire I tried that were much more expensive. You really didn't like them? Why?
