Buying new summer tires pretty shortly here. Should I just go with the stock tire size 235/50ZR17 or something different? I'm lowered on Eibachs. Just wondering if anyone had any suggestions. I'm probably going with Dunlop Direzza Sport Z1s. Seem to be a good cheap highly rated tire

You can almost always go +10 bigger then stock with no fitment issues. So 245/50r17 if you want a bigger tire.

245/50 17 is an odd size. Choices seem somewhat limited. I'd stick with stock, or stagger the rear with a 255/45 :D

245/45-17 is a popular size. higher volume than most sizes.
actually noticed 245/45 is listed on the LS door tag too.

Anyone have any experience with Falken FK 452s? I'm trying to find a summer tire at a decent price. Thread wear probably wont matter. I really plan on have new rims by next summer

(I am not familiar with the Falken you mentioned, but I know the Nitto NT555 ZR has been great for me).

Discount Tire does not list them as being in stock at Ann Arbor... but that is where I got mine from.
Call them. I talked them down in price from their original quote also. Paid $136 each in August of 2011.

They ordered them for me in the size I wanted, at a good price. They are listed on their website, and it says to call them for ordering. Nice tire, great price. They are still a low profile, with closer to stock circumference/diameter than the 245/45/17... filling the wheel gap a little more, wider. (Recommended for 8" or wider wheel, but it fits, and rides great to me... and others here have that width/size/brand of tire and like it also).

Tires

Wider/taller tires = lower gas mileage!!!! Wider taller tires, out of tire spec on door label may increase load on bearings/axles etc. on interstates. Look good real exspensive repair! Ask any OTR trucker how many they see! Around town OK.
