I need to buy tires for those Jaguar by BBS wheels I want but cant make up my mind on what to get. I dont want to drop another $1000 on tires alone so dont recommend any that are $200/each please. I really want to try out some Toyo Proxe 4's again, had them a few years back on my Camaro and loved them but the NT05's by Nitto that I have out back are just awesome. I was also considering some Bridgestones and Falken 458's/512's, one of those.. Also, whats a good recommended size for 18x8's? I was thinking 225/40/18? Not looking for truck tires here.. Summer tires only, hoping for AA traction ratings and W or Z speed ratings.

Well see heres the thing, I knows there are all kinds of reviews on tirerack ect but most of them are companies competing with one another and the positive ones are people who work for them blah blah blah thats why Im asking on here. The Invo's suck by the way. Noisy, they track bad just like the 555's.. They have a crisp turn in but the 555's are much more of a sharp turn in while cornering. Traction was worse with the Invo's all around.

but what about bfg gforce my dad has them on his camaro good tires and very good in rain
 
Possibly, Ive heard good and bad about them. The Foxbody I raced in one of my videos had them and he had to keep leaving in second otherwise theyd spin too much. Probably the only reason why I beat him.
 
i have hankook ventus hrII and they've been great so far not a single problem, i also have 245/40/18

225/40R18 is a lot smaller than stock. 235/50R17 is stock, or 26.3" in diameter; 225/40R18 is 25.1" in diameter. Plus the 225 width is rather thin, especially for an 8" wheel. 235/45R18 would be better suited for the rim width, as well as keeping the overall diameter the same. You could go to 255/40R18 is you want tires that wide.
 
I have General Altimax HP. Stock size, 215/60 R16. I think they were 430 for the whole set mounted and balanced.

Dry traction : Excellent
Dry cornering : Excellent
Turn in : A little drift (may be the tall side wall of stock size too)
Responsiveness : A bit slow (may be the tall side wall of stock size too)
Wet traction : Excellent
Wet cornering : Really good
Highway float/tracking : Excellent
Lost traction/snap back : You really have to romp on them to get them to spin and they regain fast.

They are Excellent in the winter too. Anywhere I pointed the car, it went. I never spun out. Only problem is, being so cheap, they require a balance every once and a while. These were compared to the stock contis up front and Michelin Hydros out back..

But, of course, they are cheaper so they aren't going to be like some others. I have had better results than the Michelins that I was using.
 
hankook ventus v4 es 245/40/18 is pretty good all season. and firehawk wide ovals are my summer tires they arent bad but suck in the rain.
 
ive used Sumitomo HTR+ for years. At least 3 sets on the LS. Love them for all of their qualities especially their failure to get noisy as they wear.
 
I am enjoying my hankook ventus V12s peetty thoroughly so far.

Dont have an in depth review for you but they have been great. They flat spot slightly overnight. But nothing driving a couple hundred feet doesnt fix.
