Yes, I know that the tensioners are shot. I was taking off my valve covers b/c they were leaking oil into the spark plugs so I decided to check the timing chain. Like I figured it was very loose so I want to fix that while I have the valve covers off. Anyways I have 2 questions.

1. Are the timing tensioners dealership only?

2. Do they make aftermarket ones?

i'm sorry but my experiences with napa are no different than the dealer prices, you say bring a bag of money, well napa is no different, just for a quick price comparison look up lower control arms for the front end of a mark, napa gets twice as much for a no name as advance auto does for a factory TRW arm.

see what i mean CRAZZZZZZZZY!!
NAPA: Control Arm - Lower - Front Susp Mark VIII
Item#: RPC11075

Price: $207.99
tax and shipping not included

ADVANCE AUTO: Moog Chassis Prod. Control Arm W/Ball Joint Mark VIII
Our Price: $73.99

and you tell him to bring a bag of money if he goes to the dealer, what makes napa's control arm so much better it cost 3 times the price?

Mabey thats napa in the states...dude you dont have to tell me sh|t about comparision i work at napa...sure retail prices are out to lunch but theres room for movement...just giving a price and part # didn't need no aftermarket haters come out of the woodwork...97 part # 90387sa $827.00 retail...oh by the way jamie...ford doesnt offer lifetime warrenty on that upper control arm unlike the dana from napa...

Aftermarket haters???

How about people that just like quality parts on there cars...

There a number of things I wouldn't have any problem putting on my car that is aftermarket, but internal engine components is just one of those oem only things.

If it wasent a "quality" part i wouldn't be recommending it...just trying to give the guy some options be4 he goes to the stealership and gets boned...if max could give a quote we could compare the two of them...but my timing products exceed O.E.M. specs in material and manufacturing...

all the guy needs is the guides and the tensioners, MAYBE the chains if something is way off, no need to get gears and all that other stuff.......unless its broken. do buy OEM for engine parts.
