time for new brakes

So it's about time for new brakes, I'm going to be ordering them tonight. I found some nice slotted rotors from rotorworks, I don't need rotors as mine are still in great condition, but I really want the look + added cooling. I already ordered the pads, ordering the rotors tonight. My main question is, are the only stainless brake lines for the LS the stoptech ones? I don't have the cash to dump on these right now since I'm leaving for Cabo San Lucas in 14 days. I REALLY want stainless brake lines and if I could do the whole brake job at once I would be extremely happy.

Also, whats a nice brake fluid to use, I know dot4 has a higher boiling point but what brand, or are they all the same?

I'm most likely going to paint my calipers black too.

Any other suggestions while I do this this weekend?

I'm getting the porterfield R4-S pads, but I'm having trouble finding them for the LS. I found them all over eBay but none for the LS, any help?

as far as I know - the StopTech SS lines are the only ones.

I have the stainless flex lines on my 03; you'll like them a lot if you get them. Gives so much better feel / firmness.

If you have the time and know how to rebuild a caliper (not at all difficult), take apart your calipers and take them to a powder coat shop. The paint is crap and won't really give you a good lasting finish (especially if you live in the "salt belt")

Valvoline makes an outstanding DOT 3/4 compliant full synthetic brake fluid and you can get it in most stores. There are a few other more race designed fluids out there but chances are you'd have to order it and they get pretty pricey. I would flush your system too if I were you. Get 2-3qt. of fluid and look for a suction syringe. Use the syringe to take out all of the old brake fluid from your reservoir as possible, refill with the new fluid. now go in the exact same order for bleeding (LR, RR, LF, RF) and bleed until the fluid comes out clean; go around two or three times doing this until you've emptied at least 2qts. That will clear out all of the dirty, watered down fluid.

Well I like the powdercoating idea, and I will call for the order of the pads, thanks. I was looking to do everything web-based I hate phones. So they only offer the stoptech lines, those will have to wait, I need spending money for vacation .

I will probably bleed the whole brake system, depending on who is around to help me.

I'm still gonna use the G2 paint I saw in a couple other threads just to see how I like it, yeah I live in the suburbs of Chicago and they LOVE to pour salt.
