This weekend's project is to change outer tie rod ends. Does anyone knoe the correct torque for the nuts on the stud on the tie rod end that goes into the steering knuckle?

Thanks for your help.

I just changed mine out 2 days ago. I didn't torque mine, just used a wrench.

Sorry, I should have said it's a Gen I, 2000 non-sport V8. I would think that the torque on that particular nut would be the same regardless. I'll go with about 60 ft-lbs.

All done. I just went with as tight as I could get 'em, plus 1/2 turn!! I didn't realize that I wouldn't be able to get a torque wrench on them anyway. So, thanks for the replies and the link.

To be precise here, you couldn't get your torque wrench on them. It's likely that some other torque wrenches will fit.
