Im extremely new to the forums and dont have much experience with the Lincolns. Ive always like the body style of the LS but have heard of the early models having problems. Im sticking with 04's and above. Found this one on carmax's site and usually they are priced a little higher than most but this one is somewhat cheap compared to the others on autotrader. What should I be concerned about with a used 04?

Looking for something nice to have that I can put a mild drop and some decent looking wheels on for the family car. Not looking for speed with these but I want the V8. Thanks for any help.

thats what i paid for my 02 v6 last march. with a bit more miles on it. you will need to decide some things. 1, can you over look the things that will happen with time and enjoy the car still, 2, have the funds to pay someone, or the time it seems to take in repair/costs to do it yourself, 3, understand the quick depreciation value of the car. if you can over look these things and probably some more, then you could have a great car. they are fun to drive, a bit heavy on the gas usage, comfortable, and flat out look great.

if your getting the car from the dealer and decide to sign for it, before taking the keys, have them run it on the computer and check for misfires in the coils or maybe visually inspect the plugs/coils (i'm not a do it yourself repair person, don't know how hard it is to reach these, just know they are a big problem with ford engines) to make sure there is no oil leaking in them. this seems to be the biggest repair job on the ls. drive the car and pump some gas to make the car go. feel for anything odd, any engine hesitation. even ask when they got the car, what did they do it for "reselling"...etc did they change the plugs, belts, new fluids in transmission etc etc.

Yea that is too much IMO.

I paid $7000 for my used 04 with 100k on it

Also I would not buy it from a dealer unless you REALLY check it out well. I was comfortable with buying mine with so many miles because this couple lived out in the middle of nowhere and had to take the highway everywhere, so the miles were nearly all highway. I searched for 6 months, it'll take time before you find that perfect one.

Thanks guys. I may just look at private sellers. Im a newb when it comes to LS's so just making sure I didnt do anything dumb.
