Now that was a steal.

God I want a fox body - alas I have too much in my mark to justify selling it.

Mmmmmmm SSP notch.... *drool*

I love it except for the Turbocoupe wheels... but they arent bad

Maybe I was just spoiled by my first car being an MN12, but I just don't get the love for the fox body. I used to want one, then I had to drive one for a week, and any desire to own one went right out the window on the first bump. They are very twitchy when pushing them, there isn't even close to enough interior room, the steering is completely numb, the back end likes to randomly jump 6 inches to the left or right when you hit a pothole, it has squeaks and rattles coming from so many directions you can't track any of them down, and to top it all off, it still costs at least $2500 to buy one in decent shape, and they really aren't that fast. I've never driven a convertible one, but it is probably just going to make all those problems worse. Now the extent of my love for the fox platform is if I see a nice 4-eye GT, I give the driver a thumbs-up for a good looking car, and drive away thankful that I don't have to deal with it.

Compared to todays cars, no they are not that fast. They are like a blank canvas though with so many possibilities of what you can make it, and so easy to work on. My LT1 Z28 was a rattle trap crap box in comparison to my 90 LX, and God forbid trying to work on it in any meaningful way. Ever change an optispark on an LT1? A distributor change on a 5.0 Mustang is as easy as removing one bolt. You can pop off the entire intake in a half hour or less. The only other platform that might have as many aftermarket options available is the Civic, and Fox mods are cheap. WIll you be beating LS1's out of the box stock? No, but they are still a lot of fun and can be turned into whatever you want from a road course car to a drag strip monster to a pure cruiser and anything in between without making you go broke.

I know I wouldn't want one as a daily. But they're light and have plenty of room under the hood... One day I will have one with a Cad 500 in it..

I used to daily my '89 GT... even with a 4.10 gear it got excellent mileage and was a wonderful highway car

Ive replaced the opti spark on my old 94 Formula. I invented some new swear words while doing it too.
I also remember buying three 1/2" universals so I could get to the last spark plug on the passenger side. Hated the plastic in that damn car too. Everything squeeked and rattled and I bought the car with 2800 miles on it.
I will never own another F-body.

I have to say that it is true that you can end up with a rattle trap, but get a fox body with low miles and a fox that lived its whole life in a state like new mexico where theres really no snow and the roads are good,it makes a world of diffrence believe me,this fox I have now has the best ride I ever had,and with a 273 gear 5-spd shorty headers gt 40 intake,h-pipe flowmasters, under drive pulleys, the car is awesome on the streets and the highway, love it and I love my mark and my 93maxima 5-spd 300DOHC 190HP is no slouch

I would have to have some 3.55's in it if it were my car. My car had a built Lentech AOD, 4.10's and a mild 2400 non lockup converter and was still a good street car.

yes I know 373 would be nice but I like going 160 on the highway with my 273 gears:rolleyes:

unless you are drag racing all the time....the 2.73 gears are fine especially on a car that your primarily drive...i drive my fox all day everyday when i take it out for the season is nice saving the fuel and keeping the revs down on te highway...the 3.73 really wake the car out of the hole though

I am very happy with the cars I own I love both the mark and the mustang its the best of both worlds lincoln and ford:)

I prefer my mustang in many ways..i love the rawness, the grunt of the pushrod v8...the manual trans..i love bangin gears

as for the Mark, i love everything else it has to offer

I would happily kill anyone for that GT T-top car. Out of all Foxes that is what I wanted most. A black GT T-top. So.... ya need anyone knoced off? :D

i could see your 98 LSC in my garage hahaha

car is apart right now and needs a paint job those pictures were from 2008

should be back together with the new engine, by mid summer this year, 351W H,C,I and so on and so forth

The reason I said 3.55's was because they are a good blend of both on a 5spd car. My car had no top end whatsoever with the AOD and 4.10's, but I was beating lightly modded LS1's (was 4-0) at the track.
