Thinking about gears

i was thinking about putting either 3.73 or 4.10's from ford racing. If i decide to get them do i have to get a chip because it says that i do on super coupe performance. I already have a superchip tuner installed.

You don't have to but it helps.

the main reason for getting a chip with 4.10 gears is to eliminate the speed limiter - otherwise you might find yourself topping out around 98 mph.

did gears on my friends t bird and it changed the shift points horribly and topped it out at 80ish

yes, the shift points go all to hell. and the car will top out as stated before. get the chip, (and a shaft) you'll thank yourself.
