Things to make better?

this is a minor thing

But if I hold My unlock button, all my iwndows and sun roof open. I wish If i held my Lock button they would all close.

Also, however they made the doors, Every time I am on bumpy road, sounds like something is knocking inside the front doors, Besides that noise, my car would be Completely silent.

My car is STILL at FLM getting its last bumper to bumper warranty work done. The even changed my Belt, It squeaked forlike 5 minutes on a cold start... They are really treating me well there.

it should go back up the same way. its in the owners manual... not magic

ok so let me clarify things.

GEN 1

Auto door switch on the drivers window and auto open moon roof.
FOB opens all windows stock
key lock opens and closes all windows

GEN 2
Auto door switch for front windows (up and down) and auto moonroof
FOB still opens all windows
key lock opens and closes all windows

want light timers during the day? cover the dome of the sensor on the dash. If it doesnt see light, it'll keep the lights on. Want a more perm fix that pretty easy, then paint it.

What sensor on the dash?

What sensor on the dash?

It's that little tinted bubble on the left side. The one with the flashing red light inside it. That's were the light sensor is for the automatic headlights. Cover it, and the car will think that it is always nighttime.

There is a catch. That little bubble is also where the infrared sun load sensor for the climate control is. The climate control may not work as well with the sensor covered, or it may not make enough difference to matter.

Um, I always thought that was the " Back off! I have an alarm ass hole." light.

I want the Viper 5901, but I wonder if BestBuy will install it if I bring it in myself from buying online? lol

Also my car has remote start but it is disabled, but Im guessing the wriring is still in place. The prev. owner gave me the little keyfob dealys for it, but told me I need to put a fuse back in for it to work. They claimed that the dealership told them the aftermarket remote start caused the coils to fail...

lol?

Fix your fuse, get your remote start, it rocks. Do not ever take an LS to Best Buy for any install, let alone something as complex as a remote starter install.

List of approved cars to take for install at a Best Buy:

any Dodge
Chevy's
any Japanese car
Hot Wheels®

:D

mine does the same thing, i think that it is the door handle itself. its enough to drive me to drink

yes they will, but they wont be able to warrenty the system just the install, expect to pay about $250 plus the PKall (immoblizer bypass) whitch is $70 then another $40 for trunk pop and then if you want them to fix your windows to roll down and up should be around another $50, by the time that your done, it will be a little over $400 for the install, before they look up the info in the computer, ask them if they know the difference between the FEM, REM, and the DDM. if they dont know what your talking about, then they have never installed a R/S or a security system on a LS before and i would probably find someone else to work on it, if they doo know what your talking about, they should be familier enough with the car to do a good job

most of the time the R/S's tach wire is tapped into a wire at the coil or the injector, and dealerships jump on that to blame the R/S, even though it only one coil and they dont have a good excuse why the other 7 are F'ed up and covered in oil

i think he means with the factory fob, it only rolls down, no up :(

haha another pointless but way cool one. Just tap the trunk and slowly down it goes.

you mean like the old school town cars right :D

Almost. I had that on my 87 and 92 LSCs, but you had to pull the trunk down before the motor caught it. I'm talking about the ones you tap while they're fully extended and they close on their own.

Hey Paul, try inserting the key in the door, turning to the right to lock it, then just hold the key in that turned position. I bet something cool happens.

Caddy's are like that also. You have to pull it half way down before it starts to pull it for you.

Just to put this at the top of the page for XTCMELS

Lincoln MKX has the auto close trunk/hatch. Pretty sweet feature.

I had a loner Town Car with that a couple of weeks ago. It would also close the trunk if you pressed the trunk button on the remote while it was open.

If you're going to add that, you might as well also add the door close feature that some cars have. You pull the door in to the first click, and a little motor pulls the door the rest of the way shut, no slamming.

But if they put that on the LS people would be falling out.:D

Believe it or not, it was actually kind of handy to have the trunk close with a button press when your hands are full (carrying the stuff you just got out of the trunk).

I could see it as being handy for someone like my mother that might have trouble reaching up to pull the trunk lid down.

hmmmm good call. I hate balancing like 8 cases of drinks while trying to free a hand to close the trunk
