Hey guys im new. I just bought a 1995 Mark VIII. I know there are a couple ways to lower the car. What is the easiest way to change the ride height? At first I was thinking of doing a whole swap to coil springs but decided against it until i hear some other options. What is the best way guys?? need help! thanks.

What are these all about?: http://www.autoanything.com/suspension-systems/69A2968A0A0.aspx

Look up "Sensor Lowering" for the Mark VIII. That is the least expensive way to lower the Mark VIII, assuming your air ride is in good condition.

I took a look at that. That seems the cheapest and most simple way to do it. But are there any other kits, to be able to control it. I looked at the module VIII, seemed alright, but are there any other systems?

Of the top of my head, it was sensor lowering, then the sensor 8, and at one point a board member was selling a system that wouldn't allow you adjust ride height, but it did enable you to "Slam" the car on command. I don't know if they are available anymore.

In terms of aftermarket parts for a Mark VIII- unless they are intended to function on a Thunderbird or Cobra, then they don't make it. The Mark VIII market is much too small to generate much commercial support.

I sensor lowered mine about a year ago, Quite a bit too. It has not devoloped any leaks yet and I love the stance! There is no reason for me to want to change the stance from where it is now unless I was parked, Then I would use one of Ray's kits just for that. That way it could be slammed only while parked though. Driving it slammed would cause other issues I'm sure! The rear was a piece of cake to sensor lower, The front was pretty easy too, I made the mounting holes on the bracket more like a slot so I could adjust each side with ease. Go for it! you will really like it!

i have the "rays switch" and love it, easy to install, and works great. my biggest concern with the modual viii is that, you change the ride height and you just changed every alignment angle, do this while driving and kiss your tires goodbye. my 98 is sensor lowered (and aligned there) with a rays kit, and i set it down when i park, when i pick it up it goes to the exact same height, no wondering if is exactlly the same cuz i believe the mod8 has like 10 settings and only 5 lights
just my $0.02 :D

The Module VIII has no lights or setting, its a potentiometer. The "no name" one has 25 steps with 5 light indicators.

I agree that radical changes can change you alignment but most drive at one and lower it for show or cruising around town. I think most dont make changes radical enough to be a problem with alignment. I adjust mine all the time but do have a certain level I keep it at. I go lower when I feel like it or raise it when there is a lot of snow (the city ain't paying me for plowing!). Since October I have had no uneven wear or any problems. Keep in mind these cars lower almost and inch on their own anyway.

However, if you put this in a stock height vehicle and use it solely to lower - and keep it lowered then an alignment is a good idea, just like if you adjust the physical sensors. Mine was aligned after I sensor lowered it.

Chickie is on it!! I love my lowering kit. I didn't get the silencer and when he lowers - 'SHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHPUT" - HOT AS HE11!! Can't tell you how hot he looks at shows, n it's too sweet getting out each of him, each time to hear him!!! People turn their heads when I pull up anyway, but they really get interested when he lowers and the air lets out!

Don't know if Ray is still in the biz or not, but I love it!!!!
SMOOCHES HOTTIES!

Ive had my car lowered for over 2 years and havnt had any wear issues with the tires. I am quite suprised actually. I have a module 8 in my 95, and sensor lowered my 96 last week. I still havnt decided which one i like better.
