So I was leaving the Chicago area last weekend when I saw this on the tollway and about cringed. This for some reason, really bothers me, I know the rear has the load leveling feature but I don't think this is the way it was to be used. I know it probably has a coil conversion on it, but I still dislike the idea.

Dragin trailer wires & Chains also. I'll bet the directional wheels are on the wrong way too!!

whats wrong with that? i used to tow with my 97 and my 98, i even pulled 14 transmissions to aamco with my 97, right around 2000 lbs 30 miles. plus, there are a ton of you guys out there who bought tranny's, motors, hood's and doors and rear ends that wouldnt have them right now if i hadnt towed them to the trucking terminal, so whats wrong with towing again lol????

I always thought it would be cool to have a mark viii pulling another mark viii. lol.

If I recall correctly, you could get the trailer hitch installed by the dealer. My recollection is that low weight towing is fine.

of course it is, it wont hurt anything, i had a small class 1 hitch with 1 inch receiver and my trailer was a small 4 x 8. couldnt even feel it behind the car.

Well the 95 I had pulled a 65 foot "boat". Just like any vehicle, its how its driven when towing that can prevent any potential damage, not what you are towing. But that little u-haul is barely taller than the Mark!

I remember those photos of Jamie pulling all those trans! :D

lol i got lost of dumb looks doing that lol, but hey, i couldnt turn down the cash for all those trannies!!!

That Mark VIII/U-HAUL combo should be in peppermans 'redneck pics' thread.:p

thats why i have a truck (sorta, an explorer lol)
the pic dont look too bad, ive came up on big campers being towed by Taurus sized cars, they looked like a run away camper

yeah.. that bothers me too. i dont know why

sorta like seeing a lifted 4x4 with huge tires and NOT A SPECK OF DIRT ON IT

it just doesnt seem right to me

I hear ya devil

I moved to St. Louis a couple months ago and I always see those "suits" driving the jacked up trucks that are completely spotless, not a scratch on them. Where I come from, if you're gonna build it up that much, it's gonna be seeing some major mud.

Ive seen Marks towing small trailers before.

I worked at an RV Dealer for a summer a few years back. A little old lady went out and bought a brand new 02 S-10 4.3 2wd regular cab and wanted to tow a 32' 5th wheel camper with it. Last I heard she was still running the same setup, just not real fast...

My biggest complaints are the dragging safety chains and wire... as well as the fact that the trailer isn't level. This is obviously someone that knows nothing about towing, and the kind fellows at U-Haul... like always... don't seem to care.

In case anyone wants to tow and isn't aware (ALL of this is VERY important safety concerns!):
-Chains should be loose, but not dragging; attached in a cross manner.
-Harness plug should be loose enough to permit un-strained turning, but not dragging (and ensure the lights work!!).
-Trailer should sit level; this will likely require a drop or lift hitch (or adjustable)
-When loading a trailer, the tongue weight should be between 10-15% of the gross trailer weight.
-Never exceed the load capacity of the hitch or vehicle.
-If the tow vehicle has the slightest problem staying in OD, DO NOT allow it to keep searching for a gear, turn off OD!!
-THE LEFT LANE IS FOR PASSING ONLY; especially if you have a trailer, you SHOULD NOT be driving in the left lane!

THANKS!

(PS, I assume most of you who tow already know this... it's just all of the above make me wish I was in a hummer cruising up highway 1 in Iraq and I could just have my gunner perforate Mr. Stupid Driver's engine block.)

oh thats nothing........

picture a last gen Prelude with a trailer.......lololol

if only i would have had a camera :(

at least our cars have a V8 and are RWD......

i still wouldnt do it though.

Well he might have a new crate motor and trans along with goodies for his mark in that trailer and thought he drive it one last time on his old stuff, nah.

I shouldn't tell you guys how I got my Buick Apollo here from Kansas... 5000lbs with trailer.
